All That I Am Living For ; Evanescence |

Well, I know it's Boxing Day, but since I didn't update yesterday, here's a Merry Christmas to everyone (: Although I am not a Christian, I still enjoy Christmas. I mean Christmas is afterall a season of giving, and it's always nice to receive gifts or cards from friends. But what's nicer is when I give a gift to someone and they express how much they like/love it (: I don't get it. I have friends who sent me Christmas cards, despite knowing that I don't really celebrate it. Yvonne, for example, I've gotten cards from her every Christmas since I was 14? Shan and Amanda both gave me cards too. And in the past, I got cards from Ms Chng, and other friends. I can't really remember. I think I prefer cards to gifts, really.
Despite being a person who doesn't really celebrate Christmas, I organised two Christmas parties! The first one was for touch rugby on the 19th at YY's house. And the second was for 405 on the 21st at Chuwen's house. Both were great parties! Haha YY, Sarah, Shan and I prepared ALOT for the touch rug party - we cooked all the food ourselves (except for the roast turkey which we ordered from Carrefour), prepared all the games and made pinatas! I didn't do any decor. Only YY and Shan went to get the balloons. But I did the invites for the party (: The food was yummy. All the pasta was gone. We had to make another bowl of potato salad cos the first bowl had been depleted. Ms Wu and the coaches came - but sadly, Kiat and Viola couldn't come. In the end, we didn't have time for the pinatas (so I decided to use one for the 405 party - I don't know why we made two actually..) cos we decided to watch A Walk to Remember instead. Man, I miss that movie! I'm so glad 405 had a party eventhough only about half the class could make it. The foreign scholars were all back in China at that time. Some people had other parties to go to, I think. Well actually, the party idea was by Guiyi. She approached me some time in Term 4 and suggested that we had a class reunion. So I thought, either have it in the last week of school or have it as a Christmas party cum reunion (: Lol, so when everyone had arrived, all the gossips and funny recollections started pouring in. The forfeits were really fun (: Some had to yodel and dance around for 15 seconds. And some had to ATTEMPT to beatbox! Hilarious stuff. And the turkey was good (: Though the cranberry sauce was so-so. Chuwen and her Mom paid for all the munchies - pizzas, roasted turkey, drinks, finger food, marshmellows, whip cream LOL. ( Presents! )
Well to say the truth, this is the best Christmas I've had.
Kak Leza invited Ana, Fira and I to Durrah's first birthday party on the 24th. Only Ana and I went though, cos Fira was working. It was really nice seeing Kak Leza and her daughters again after so long. Well, about one and a half years, in fact. The last time I saw her was during her birthday party in June 2005. Gosh, I really do miss her. And I feel so bad for not visiting her during Hari Raya or anything. Ana and I did made plans, but sometimes plans don't materialise. That day was the first time I saw her youngest daughter. Durrah is really adorable (: A really bright little girl and she looks alot like Dianah. I got to talk to Dahlia for a little while. She was dressed in a blue sequinned mermaid costume and she looked so pretty and cute in it. I don't know whether she remembers me or Ana. I don't blame her for forgetting since she's just a kid and we haven't been in contact for a long while. But well, I'm glad Kak Leza invited us (: Oh and haha, Ana and I are really proud of what we got for Durrah!
It's really nice, ain't it? Initially, we didn't know what to get her because firstly, we've never met her and secondly, we've never shopped for a one-year-old before. But well, we managed, after scouting the whole of Tampines Mall and rampaging through Toys R Us! We wanted to get her something different, not a toy or a piece of clothing cos we figured alot of other people would be getting that. So yep, we got her the frame with her name on it. I really like it. If someone got that for me, I'd be so happy and pin it onto my bedroom door immediately (: But oh well, I'm not a one-year-old anymore ):
Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday dear Durrah.
