After more than a week with my new PDA, I think I have got a more or less stable configuration but without any "hacks" like Findhack, Screenshot, McPhling or Qlaunch running. Hotsyncing is fine - even better than my old T3 which had occasiona Saved PRefs DB errors.
Had a minor glitch with duplicate entries in SplashID but that was because I am syncing with 2 PCs and I forgot to update the SplashID on one of them.
A backup to SD utility is sorely needed and BackupbuddyVFS from Bluenomad is the first to claim support for the T5 but I find it quite buggy and crashes my T5 though I had a couple of successes running a full backup. Lets hope a bug free version comes up soon.
I got my first accessory - a cheap RM20 sync/charge cable for work. Saves me the trouble of having to cart the cable to and fro. Next item will be the palmOne Universal Wireless Keyboard as soon as Cheng Ho can locate one for me - currently in short supply.
Do I miss the voice recorder? No. Do I miss vibrating alarms? No.
I do miss the speedier G2 in the T3 - it is a little more sluggish in the T5 but I can live with it.
Overall I am quite pleased with the T5 and hope and pray there will be no digitiser drift ever again - or is this wishful thinking?
