An ideal day is one during the course of which, you learn something.
Today, I learned that my smoke detector works just fine, thank you very much. I was in my micro-kitchen doing some baking. I was making my pound cakes smaller & therefore cut the baking time from 1 1/2 hours...down to 45 min. Seems I didn't chop it down enough cuz right around 35 minutes, I smelled something troubling. They were beginning to look a bit like charcoal - although the insides were perfect. I'm beginning to think my oven may be possessed by a demon....or maybe something is wrong with the temperature thingy.... I got an oven thermometer & will be testing things very soon. The 2nd batch was given more precautions & turned out better. These should be heading off to Calif sometime very soon...
Aside from that, today was spent loafing & lounging & napping with my kitty in a cute fuzzy ball tucked into the bend of my arm. It was one of those days when I really didn't feel like doing much of anything....
Went over to the parent's place this evening. I changed the ink in Mom's computer. Bill & I went over to Subway & got din din. I got some laundry done. I told Mom I'd be back over Monday afternoon & get their outside lights up. At my place, the only decoration is an electric candle in my window. "Simple" works.
I'm going to try to get my vehicle down to emissions testing & get the registration out of the way. I have to do this before the end of the month. A 2-year renewal is $201.83 with all the fees & taxes & stuff added. The emissions test (seperate) is either $19.00 or $27.75...it was kinda vague. Anyway, I hope to get that done tomorrow.
Why does it seem like everything is piling up on top of me all at once??
