10:59PM - Sanity Test

I recently (I think) got back from my yearly Sanity Test. This is also known as "Christmas Shopping". It's amazing how out of practice one gets after a year goes by.... I reached my destination - P V Mall - around 12:30pm. I actually found a decent parking spot & figured the experience wouldn't be that bad after all.

Fast Foreward 3 hours (or what seemed like it)

My eyes are dried out by the alcohol in the perfume that's clogging up the atmosphere at the enterance to the major department stores. My feel are saying nasty things to me for abusing them like I have. My mind is a numb blob of gray jell-o (no flavor). I have 1 item for my brother and sadly, one for me too. I realised that I made a semi-major tactical error...i.e. not having a game plan when I left my 10-20 this morning. My brother told me what he wanted. My parents have no idea what they want & told me as much. I was going to just leisurely stroll around the mall & see if anything caught my eye. A BUNCH of things I wanted did...nothing really for anyone else. Guess what I'm gonna be doing tomorrow morning....
I suppose one of the major annoyances I have with malls is the fact that NO ONE is paying attention. If traffic laws applied to shopping mall interiors, EVERYONE would be getting Felony Traffic citations. People just STOP with no warning si others have to either quickly dodge out of the way or run into them. I see people going along in a line that keeps others from passing them. I see people making abrupt u-turns - causing me to have to quickly move to one side to keep from going "Splat" right into them. People in malls have absolutely no consideration for others. If they need to stop & look at something - Pull all the way over to the side & let the other foot traffic pass. Don't just stand there "blocking the lane"!! I was so mad at everyone this afternoon, I had to get outta there & get back into nice sensible vehicle traffic. The 51 was VERY nice compared to what was in the mall.
I'm going to make a list this evening of what I think everyone on my list deserves & get out in the morning & get it all done. I can do this. I can do this. I can do this......I hope......

The other problem with getting stuff for the family is that birthdays are so close together. My Dad's birthday is Christmas Day. Mom is 2 weeks after that. I am 2 weeks after Mom & My brother is 2 1/2 weeks after me. Whole lotta shopping going on!!

Tylenol Time!!
