Well.....
Day off Sleep patterns are back to their usual messed up state of being. Ain't it grand? The Phoenix Lodge of VASA had their Lucia today. It went from 1:00pm until...whatever time it ended - I wasn't really keeping track. I was about 10 minutes late, but that didn't matter since they NEVER start on time anyway. There were all the usuals.... Opening anouncements, the Raffle Ticket selling, the Food*, the ring dance around the tree, the stupid jokes that the tables that hadn't been called for the food line have to sit through, the visit from Santa & The Mrs., The Lucia Pagent & the singing of the songs - some in English, some in Swedish. It's good that the words were handed out beforehand.
I did not win anything from the raffle...although one of the numbers called was 6 numbers higher than my highest number and another was 4 numbers less than my smallest ticket number. I won something last year - I can live with not getting anything this time (*bawls eyes out*).
The menu consisted of limpa bread & butter, rye-krisp, sliced cheese, sliced cucumbers w/ dill, herring in cream sauce, red cabbage, Swedish Brown Beans, some kind of sausage, pickled beets, boiled red potatoes w/ dill, ham slices, Swedish Meatballs & rice pudding w/ lingonberry sauce. It was very yummy. I actually forced myself not to go back for seconds & look like a pig in front of everyone. Amazing, huh??
The raffle prizes were all from the IKEA store (surprise), and included 4 gift baskets full o' stuff worth $100.00 each. (No...I am really NOT bothered by not winning....REALLY.....) (You don't believe me, do you?? Thought not....)
Anyway, I came back to my place afterwards & basically...went back to sleep for a short time. Tomorrow, I get to go set up the parent's tree & make it look purty. I MAY have some time to get some shopping done someday.... (I don't get paid again until the 14th, so I can wait a little....)
