At Mom's request, I took her out this afternoon and saw "The Queen". Due to it only showing at 3 theaters here in town, we went back up to The AMC Deer Valley 30 where you need a road map to get around. We were at the 5:00pm showing. There were approz 10 other people in there besides us & I was the youngest of the bunch...what does THAT say??
Anyway... The movie is about Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family immediately after the death of Princess Diana in 1997. The story isn't all that exciting, but the acting is very well done. If Helen Mirren doesn't get an Oscar nomination for her portrayal of The Queen, I will be VERY surprised & a little upset too.... The rest of the cast was good also, but not as much so as the title character. The movie runs 97 minutes, so it wasn't one of those "Help...My butt fell asleep & I can't move!!" type of movies. I almost wished it HAD gone on a little longer, but what can ya do??
