1:05PM - St. Lucia Day - December 13th

http://www.internet-at-work.com/hos_mcgrane/holidays/nora.html

The local Scandinavian Lodge has a Festival for St. Lucia every year around December 13th. This year, we are having it on December 10th (the closest Saturday). Years ago, the costume included real candles, which were visually more impressive than the battery powered ones we use today. The menu usually consists of meatballs, ham, red cabbage, boiled potatoes w/ dill, herring in cream sauce, limpa bread & butter, cheese (usually bundost & swiss), coffee, punch and/or glogg (non-alcoholic). (We used to have the alcoholic variety, but this festival is held at a church and they frown on things like that). Generally, we have a pretty good time. The problem I usually have is the fact that I always end up at the last (or near last) table called to be called to get in the food line.
*sigh.......
