OwlStorm's Day

Some things are bothering me about this little election coming up. Yes, I know many people are bothered by some element of it, but here are some of my thoughts.
In the 2000 melee, voters seemed to be voting against a candidate instead of for one. Same thing now. There is much more emotion in 2004, and decisions based on strong emotional build-up usually result in something that is regretted later. The way it looks now, the candidates are tied in popularity and no matter who wins, at least half of the country will be against him, just like last time. We will have a big nasty mess no matter who wins. Certain groups are threatening to become violent if Kerry doesn't win. Are these foreign terrorists? No, they are American citizens. Has the population of this great nation lost their collective sanity? We are supposed to be a civilized people who are able to share ideas & discuss issues. Lately, it seems that groups who don't like what each other stands for are saying they will riot in the streets if they don't get their way. There is a tension in this country that shouldn't be there. It builds apon itself and is getting worse.
No matter who wins in November, we need to support them to the best of our ability (and give them suggestions if it looks like they need them).
Most of the problem now (in my own opinion) comes from the fact that the American people have had so much going on in the last couple of years that they don't feel they have/had any control over. Things were done on their behalf by a well meaning government at the time, but it rarely included input by the public. People don't like to feel left out of the process. If this is the only reason not to vote for Mr. Bush, then I see this as "out of the frying pan & into the fire" because, as the numbers stack up now, Kerry will be in the same position and it won't be any better. Instead of the Left being foaming-at-the-mouth angry, the Right will be. This ain't an improvement in my way of thinking.
Leave the anger at home. Vote. Accept the results and work with them.
Civilized behavior.
Use it or Lose it.

Raven
You are most like Raven. Quiet and usually soft
spoken, you don't like crowds and can be
slightly gothic. You try to repress your
emotions for one reason or another but one of
your most powerful emotions is your anger. Your
temper sometimes gets the best of you and when
that happens those in your way would wish they
weren't. You seem somewhat creepy to others and
you earn a few odd stares but who cares? You
aren't an outdoors person and avoid venturing
outside when you can. You are generally the
smart one and maybe not by trying to, the most
cynical and sarcastic of the bunch which can be
good or bad. You don't like anyone invading
your privacy and you don't seem to be all that
social. But for what it's worth you can be
quite handy in a tough situation. You are drawn
to the darkness or night most of the time. You
appear mysterious and/or potentially dangerous
at times and not everyone trusts you right
away.
