I saw the first debate tonight (minus the first 15 minutes). As expected, I didn't care for either of them. Perhaps I'm just too cynical to listen and accept what I hear, but this exchange almost made me fall asleep and/or go on a search to see if we had any dramamine in the place. Grand ideas are good if you have them. Strong opinions & values are equally as good. Ideas may not work and values may not matter. What then? I could almost hear my brain cells dying off as I listened to the "debate". I even tried to make the liberals happy and watched it on PBS - KAET Channel 8 here in Tempe/Phoenix. That's about the most specific effort I would put into this. I now know why they usually don't have more than 2 people in debates....it would go on even longer with more contestants and the average viewer's attention span ain't that good to begin with. It would be fun to watch if the Independents, Libertarians, Greens, etc... were involved, however, they'd have to extend the time and add commercial breaks to give viewers a chance to clear their heads before they explode.
I'm tired again. Time to go back to bed.
