Oh, what a supremely joyous night I had. It rained. It was very nice. It probably won't increase business, but I can hope. I have some family and friends who are being ravaged by the flu/a cold/pneumonia. Great time of the year for that to show up. So far, I have managed to avoid it.
As expected, my vacation time was not on my paycheck. I truly believe that the person in the office who is responsible for this sort of thing needs to be replaced, since making sure the valued employees of the largest security company in the US get their vacation pay on time and accurate seems to be such a low priority - at least in my case and a couple of others. "Help, I am surrounded by idiots". (of course I mean that in a nice way).
In another minor situation, I was informed by one of the managers about a question he had concerning a form that one of "my people" filled out, mistakenly leaving one of the signature lines blank. One of my "other" people, who was still in the office at the time knew everything there was to know about the situation and developed a massive case of "verbal vomit", telling the manager how he had handled the situation and how he told the other supervisor to fill out the form and that he didn't know that it wasn't signed properly or that it was left on the desk of one of the schedulers.
First, I take great offense in having a subordinate of mine behave like he's in charge of things like this. True, he knew what the situation was and I didn't since that's not one of the things I regularly hear about, but his manner and TAKE CHARGE by (verbally) shoving me out of the discussion ATTITUDE of his was very irritating. If I had stayed in the office longer, I likely would have strangled him. (figuratively, of course). He has delusions of grandeur and self-importance. I hope I'm there when it causes him to crash & burn.
On a lighter note, the Irish Cream pound cakes seemed to have been successful. Another gold star for Owl.
The rest of my day was spent in a manner similar to most others this week. Busy during the day and difficulty getting any real sleep. There has been no real change in sites for the last 3 days. It's getting tedious.
As you may have guessed, the Christmas spirit has not really found me yet. I have been too busy to stop and really soak any of it in. There are a few songs I have not heard yet on the radio that would help greatly, (Yes, the "Grandma" song is one of them).
Well, I'm semi-depressed again, so I think I'll go take a nap and try to forget all of the things that I have to get done today sometime. Pressure anyone??
