I had a spiritual morning, even in the absence of Deutsche Welle. I had to look at some scenes in The Constant Gardener to figure out which ones to show the class this afternoon, and that put me in a good mood. Visually and conceptually, it is beautiful. (Why the fuck am I talking like this? I'm being dramatic. And spiritual.)

of the soul: relating to the soul or spirit, usually in contrast to material things
refined: showing great refinement and concern with the higher things in life

I listened to Ayub Ogada on the way to the bus stop and stopped to appreciate the view of the trainyard that I have. I listened to Ayub Ogada all the way to school and had a revelation about the future of humanity when we came up onto the main road. When we were down in the valley I was watching the sun, because it was at my eye level and through the trees. "Nyandolo" was playing - that's a pretty song - and then I saw the Walgreens (one of three) that they're building. All of a sudden the forest turned into fucking Walgreens! Then I saw some big Comcast trucks and realized that we're all hurtling towards a technical, mechanical age (I knew that before, but whatever) where nothing will be natural.

Whatthehell! Mel just had us taste test some enchiladas and some ham-in-crescent-rolls for her, and the ham was DELISH. The enchiladas were good. The ham was DELISH.

I looooove Sophie Ellis Bextor and her disco-pop! Tonight I'm going to a play with Parab and she's driving me home. Because of my timesheet I have to be late tomorrow, shit. I'm going to try and call that lady again after lunch.

I LOVE Ayub Ogada. He is ALL I have listened to today (besides "Lady" by The Commodores because it's my '70s-sounding jam) and has put me in such a self-reflective and spiritual place. AFRICA MWAH WHY DID I DOUBT YOU.

Saw an adorable play about a paraplegic and a single mom with Parab tonight. I think I'm going to start going to more! There's no reason why I shan't. I went to work for the standard time and caught the bus, and now I'm eating my nasty-ass reheated dinner of a burger and tots. Why don't we call our food by the names they lived by as animals?

Tomorrow after school, because I don't have work, I'm going across the street to see this. T Foley (Teresa) was one of the teachers at my Pittsburgh Filmmakers class at the library. She's also on the cover of CP! Crap, it changes every Thursday! Arrrrgh I should've grabbed one! Here's the whole article on her. Didn't like her as much as Olivia (olivia), but ya gotta respect her. She taught us invaluable things. "Brisk but approachable" describes her exactly!

I'm drinking tea. I love it. I'm going to burn some CDs. Love that too. I'm going to sleep. Adorable. L8r.
