I wrote a looong entry after last night. I'm still not sure where I'll be come 6:25, at home watching with the animals or with my dad and them.
It's difficult.
Countz and I had a fantastic time at the game yesterday. We were exhausted come third period. At one point we were down 3-1, but actually put our balls to use and came back. Then we tied 'em at four, those suckers. We were actually the dominant team yesterday: Did a great job of patrolling the zone, and especially in the third kept it mainly in their zone. Miroslav Satan (SHUH-tawn, or Satan as I call him) managed a hat trick and that rookie Crapola got a lucky goal. Not Fleury's best game by far, but not a strong showing of our defense. Good day for the offense.
We had tons of power plays and two one-man advantages, but we've got the wrong guys out there. Gonchar, who is CLUELESS; Armstrong, who made a fatal mistake by skating it to the blue line and hovering for NO REASON; Crosby, Whitney I believe, and Recchi. They did score during the Supercuts power play, so Britney and I are off to get our half-offs with our ticket stubs. They took one look at us up in B15 and said, "My oh my! Those ladies are due for a trim!" And off they went.
Goals from Crosby (SCPP), Recchi, Surovy (eeeh!), and Jackman (yeeeah!). I must've said "TOE-MAZ!" eighty times; he got a lot of ice time. That was Jackman's first goal in a long time, quite overdue. Gonchar's been putting it on the net but damn if that guy can't get a break. Well god, he can't aim! I don't know if he was ever known for getting goals from the point but he needs to get a bit closer if he wants to try and make the net, by any stretch.
We earned that win. Didn't get it, but we earned it, which is the most dismal thing. Kept the pressure on DiPietro in OT but I was secretly hoping for a shootout, which I got. I was selfish; our SO record is atrocious. Satan and Hunter scored, Recchi and Ouellet did not. Like I said, Fleury wasn't on yesterday. But, I saw a shootout. BAM! BAM! BAM!
Now we are all excited here. Allie, I am thinking of you! I wish I was at your place other than here. I have a whole beef going and I'll post it tomorrow, the wireless won't work on my crappy Dell. Love to Toe-Maz. Good game buddy.
