9:17am: If you don't tell someone that it's supposed to hurt, do they still feel pain?
After circle last night, I was talking with some of the other witches about aches and pains. One of them had just been diagnosed with arthritis in her shoulder. In order to empathize, I added that my hand still hurt from last week.

"What'd you do?" one of them asked.
"I took a thrust from a wooden sword right up into the knuckle. Still hurts." I replied.

One of them wanted to see my hand, so I let them. She felt the knuckle, and the other knuckles and looked at me for a brief moment like I had grown a second head.

"... You do know your knuckle is knocked out of place, right?"

Now it was my turn to wonder if in fact I HAD grown a second head.

"Is that why it hurts?"
"Yeah. Maybe. I could try to reset it for you, but you'd hate me for the rest of your life."

I think I should probably put a call into my doctor on Monday. I need to pick up new test kits anyway, so maybe he can look at my hand and tell me if she's right. And then put it back in place...

On a brighter note, the same woman also knows where to buy refrigerated probiotics, and has seen my colors of lipstick at a WalMart in Athens, TX. So there's a good chance she might be right about my hand too.
