: F is for friends who do stuff together, U is for...
Man, did we have fun last night. One of my friends invited me out for a night of just plain fun at Main Event with her family and another one of her friends. (Who, coincidentally, lists his main hobbies as martial arts, role playing games, and going to anime conventions. I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.)
And it was certainly a blast. I'm so glad she got us all together. And I hope she finds a random excuse for us all to get together again as well! If not, I'll be happy to make up a few...
We spent most the evening playing bowling and playing shuffleboard.
After playing so many rounds on the wii, I guess I've forgotten how bad I am at bowling. On our first game, I didn't even break 50. On our second game, though, my first time up was a spare! (Yeah, I know, they put up the child bumpers for everyone at that point, since we only had a few minutes left to bowl. But it was still gratifying to see all the pins come down.) Fortunately, the game clock ran out after only one frame, and I was the only one who knocked down all the pins that frame, so I won the second game on a technicality!
Hooray for technicalities!!
Shuffleboard was a lot more fun. I'd never played it, and I really want to play it again. It's pretty hard, but I managed to score a few points every now and then.
We all played men vs women, and while the women had the lead for a while, the men snuck up from behind to take the lead in our last couple of rounds.
Though I think the funniest part of the night was when she told the waiter that I was buying the entire round of drinks. I just looked up with total surprise splattered all over my face, and said 'Sure!' The waiter was surprised as well, 'Are you sure? Is that okay?' It was. After all, we were taking turns paying for stuff. And I thought I was paying for the next game and he was paying for the first round of drinks... but it didn't matter to me who was actually next in line. So it totally caught me by surprise.
I can't wait for our next night out.
But it will have to wait for at least a week. Because... there's only two days left until my VACATION!!!!!
