: I have tickets to Death Note!!
As if that subject line didn't say it all -
The live action Death Note movie is showing for two nights only in selected theaters across the US. Dallas has a few of those theaters. And I have tickets to the Wednesday night showing!!
As I told one of my coworkers: I don't know why there's only going to be two showings. I don't know whether it's been dubbed or whether it has subtitles, but I do know one thing - I'm going in COSTUME!! My roommate and I plan to hit the mall in complete Death Note cosplay. This will mark the debut of her Mello costume, and I will once again don my L outfit.
I even contemplated briefly going barefoot. But this is a movie theater... ewww. Sticky floors. So I guess I'll have to just sit oddly in my seat instead. That, and declare that there is a 98.7% chance that Mello is going to sneak in some chocolate.
But given everything that's happened this past week, I'm actually very glad I have something exciting and fun to look forward to. As I told one of my fellow hapkido students (who happens to bear a frightening resemblance to a certain Light Yagami) last night:
"I just came back from a funeral, so I needed something happy. Like this movie! About death... with gods of death... and people dying... and everybody... dies... to distract me from... death... and people dying... yeeeeeeeaaaaah... Just go with me here."
