there's an old cliche that goes: time is money.
i've heard it said many times before, but i never expected it to mean that a lonely, careless second could cost $5,000.
here's the scene:
on day 4 of this grand excursion, we travelled to houston. while cooling with okayplayers WuGambina and
BurbKnight outside the spot where Burb spins on friday nights a clumsy camera operator (who shall not be put on blast, but whose first name starts with a "t" and rhymes with "im") dropped the camera and busted up the power button - rendering it unusable.
i'm not the most experienced filmmaker, but i'm pretty sure that no camera means no movie.
so...
Wu and Burb helped us scour southeast texas in search of a solution for our little problem. by the middle of the afternoon of day 5, we had procured a working camera and resumed shooting. it may have cost us $5,000 [NOTE: more info to come on that]. but we're still trying to make a movie.
which is good, right?
hell, it better be. 'cause our dangerously thin budget has just developed anorexia. and the moviemaking process is starting to feel like a one-legged man standing on a rope of dental floss a mile above ground with nothing but mother earth to break the fall.
but i'll be damned if we ain't gonna hop across that sumbitch.
