"I don't take checks" - A 6 year old me
My mom told me this story tonight about how Granny, (mom's mom, not the grandma that I wrote about in the last post), use to give my brother checks for birthdays and X-mas b/c he was older and she never knew what to get him, but how she would still give me and Dane toys b/c we were still little kids. Well, on my 6th birthday she thought she'd give me a really nice b-day card. So, I read it and then opened it. Inside was a check. I guess I stared at it for a long time and then looked at Granny and said, "I don't take checks". I asked mom what Granny did, (I felt so bad, and I don't remember doing it), and she said that everybody just started laughing. I was such a cool little brat, er, kid.

So tonight is my last night at Wayne's. I need to pack up my stuff and put the dishes away and put the garbage out on the street. Yay! I really need to babble in here right now. A lot has happened this week. With the family, with work, with my outlook on life, etc. So many unexpected things have happened. I am depressed to leave b/c I know I have to get back to my normal life, but that what I am living right now is not my "real life". I MUST move out in a couple of months or I will surely go crazy. I must take back the power I have given to other people. For too long I have let other people rule my emotions and I am dedicated to stopping that. Since dad passed I have told everyone about the promise I made to him. This week, though, I realized that I am NOT doing all the things that make me happy. I don't ask for much, but what I ask for is what I truly want. Therefore, I must make sure I get it. All of it. No matter what. After having some very interesting talks w/Jolene and w/Susanne I am aware that life is never decided. Ever. Period. Things change in an instant whether you want them to or whether it's convenient or whether it's "right" or not. It just changes and an amazing person goes w/it and lets it carry them away like a wave in the ocean...but a truly amazing person enjoys it as it happens. I am trying to be a truly amazing person. So much has come to light this week. Most of it unexpectedly. At the age of 23, going on 23, (*yes, I said 23 again!*), in less than a month...I am going to be happy, carefree, and enjoy the hell out of every situation that comes my way. I'm gonna think with my heart, not my head. What I feel and say and do may not be appropriate, but it's what I do. I am overly ready to get out of this slump and embrace my young life before it gets away from me.
