1:10AM - New Years and such.
First of all, i forgot to mention that i put a picture up on my page so you can go look if you want.
My new years ruled. Like i said it was Steve's birthday too, and so after we got up steve had a bunch more stuff to do for new yeas like set up speakers and light the tiki torches and stuff so i made an excuse about buying gloves in case it was cold and went off with steve's two nieces to buy him some presents. I also got a really nice card. When we got back then a bunch of us went to go buy fireworks at the fireworks stands which are just outside city limits. You aren't supposed to bring fireworks into or set off fireworks within city limits. Before we went to go get the fireworks, Steve's brotehr phil went to the bank, and also we were waiting for steve's sister in law to come to the house so she could watch the kids so that steve's brother tony could go get fireworks too. So meanwhile while that was going on we went to get some logs for the fire. But phil was in a hurry cause he had some other things to do and so he called us right when we were leaving home depot and was like "are we going yet?" So we drove out there to meet him for the fireworks.
They usually bring two cars, and park at this park and ride that's a bit down the road, going away from town from the fireworks stands. Then they go over to the stand in all one car, get the fireworks and bring them back to the other car, put them in there, and then go home. Maybe that seems a little overdoing it, but once some cops followed them from a fireworks stand and pulled them over right when they got into the city, (they didn't realize that they had gone into city limits, obviously or they wouldn't have with the cops following them) Anyway. We got there and we went to get in the other car and it was funny because Tony wasn't with phil, Phil thought that we had taken tony with us to get the logs and we thought that phil had gone back to the house and gotten tony after he went to the bank. But it turns out that tony went to the liquor store with veronica so everybody missed him. But we went ot the stand and before it was even our turn, because it was crowded and we had to wait forever, veronica, steve's niece that is my age, and tony showed up. Then we picked out fireworks, which was fun. I had no idea what anything was so i kept being like what's this what's that. They spent way way too much money, but they do every year, and the guy that was helping us at the stand kept freaking out about how much we were buying. After a long time of picking out fireworks we put them in phils truck and went back to where we left steve's but there were two cop cars there that were happening to have a rendzevou with each other so we just got in the car, and phil, with the fireworks, drove some more down the road and veronica went and got them in her car and the rest was uneventful. Good thing they all have cell phones.
Then we came home and steve got some presents that he liked, and we ate some food and finished getting music out and started setting up the fireworks, which means putting them on a table and taking them out of thier boxes and uraveling the fuses and stuff. I have never lit any fireworks before or even seen some except some really old sparklers which my parents kept telling us we could set off when we were kids but then we never did. So i was kinda scared of them at first, and i wouldn't set anything except the kids stuff off at first. But some of the kiddie stuff was fun. Like they have these little panda bears that pop up like they climbed up a tree and they spin around real fast and light up and stuff. And they had little helicopeters that would take off.
So we all hung out and listened to relaly loud music and set off some fireworks and some people sat around the fire and talked, and some people drank but the only people that actually got pretty drunk were Veronica and Roland, who is 17. They were both pretty funny when drunk. and later on i was talking to roland for a while and he said his sister moved to colorado and he missed her and i told him that he was a sentimental drunk and he thought it was all funny and stuff.
So we are all playing around and setting off fireworks and steve kept throwing these awful smoke bombs, and then all the sudden we hear miranda who is 11 going the cops the cops are here. And we turn around and there they are. Heheh it's the first time they've ever gotten caught there at the house, but the cops were funny and nice and were like well we don't want to give you a fine or ruin your new years so if you pomise to put them away right now and go to a safe zone (fields that they have right out side the city limits) and set them off there tomorrow then it's all good. So we were like cool, because the fine is 500 dollars and um.. the fireworks cost alot too. The cops said they got a complaint call, which sucks. Then they said that we were easy to find because we had the biggest show. hahah, they liked it. When they left they kind of turned back and then steve said he thought they were going to tell him to turn the music down but instead they asked who was singing! and then which album of her's (sheryl crow's) it was. ha.
So no more fireworks for us which blew because at midnight everyone sets a whole ton of them off. But oh well it was still wicked fun and then a while later a bunch of us went to the safe zone and set off all the fireworks! it was cool. they had rockets and just regulars ones and things that make all sparks all over. I set off all of them too. We impressed the other few people that were still there. It was pretty much empty but you could tell that a whole bunch of people had been there cause there was fireworks trash ALL over. Once one of the fireworks went off when it was like five feet off the ground instead of going up into the air first. One of the sparks from it hit charlene, steve's brother's girlfriend's arm, and burnt a quarter sized hole in her sweatshirt and a smaller hole in her shirt underneath. It didn't burn her though. Then after we set them all off we went home and went to bed because it was super late. it was also super fun though.
Today we went to michaels and i bought a bunch of stuff including a paper cutter. Yay. While we were there some guy that was working there told the cashier that was ringing us up that the guy that plays greg in dharma and greg was there in the store. I wanted to see if it was really him but we were already leaving. Oh well.
We also went and saw the Peter Pan movie. Which was cool but i got the impression that there was too much crammed into too little time. They took alot of time with the begining, which was good, but then some of the other parts they did real fast.
Today i was looking at tv guide which we mysteriously get for free now and you kow who died this past year? Jonathan brandis. That kid that megan was in love with way back when that was on sea quest. I wonder why he died. oh well.
