12:17AM

So. steve called out sick from work last night. which was good because he needed to sleep. I had slept way too much the night before and couldn't sleep all night. It sucked. We got up early to do stuff for the new years eve party. We went to the store and got citronella oil and wicks for the gazillion tiki torches that they put around the yard. Then Steve and his brother put the tiki torches up and i went around and took all the caps off with pliers so that we could put wicks in the ones that needed it. Then we put wicks in the ones that needed it. They all had wicks put some of the wicks had fallen out of the cap part and were inside soaking and disintigrating in the leftover citronella oil from last year. So you had to fish out that old wick to put in the new. I said that the old wicks looks like drowned rats and fishing out the dead rats was fun. yay.
Then we just hung out the rest of the day and watched a whole lot of we love the 70's on vh1. They are having a marathon which i suspect that continues through till tomorrow night going through all of the years till now. When we were watching it was at 1974 or something and if someone does't know what the show is, because yes i will explain things and not just assume that people understand my references, In the show they just go through things that were noticable that year, like movies or tv shows or certain actors or singers or some certain innovation or toy. For example, does anyone remember Hong Kong phooey (or is it Fooey?) the martial arts dog that is a janitor until he goes in the file cabinet and then comes out as the super hero?
Yeah even though i wasn't around in the 70's i saw that when i was a kid and i remember it. Anyway in the shows then they have minor celebrities comment about thier memories of that stuff and stuff. Dee snider was one of the guys they had on there. They had manson a couple times too. Manson said that he didn't recognize Queen as in the band queen, being a reference to being gay because he was too young and niave.
Tomorrow is steve's birthday. Yay. Today steve and i were looking at this toy his niece got for Christmas. It's a car for some Bratz dolls. Bratz dolls are dolls sort of like barbies but they have big heads and big feet (which have to come off so that you can dress them) and the car has lights that you can turn on and a radio that you can turn on, that plays classical music that sounds sorta italian opera-y, and the horn beeps too. So we were looking at it and Steve was fooling around with the radio switch which is on the dash and it fell off. So then he was looking for it in the car down by where the gas and break pedals would be, and he tried ot open the dor wider and then the door fell off too. It was funny. But that's just how the car is, stuff goes on and off. Then later steve took a foot off of each of the dolls and put them in the trunk.
Tomorrow i go with steve and his brothers maybe to buy fireworks. they always set off fireworks on new years even though you aren't supposed to in the city. this year it's been really dry recently too so that's no good either. fire works are loud. I no like loud. i like pretty colors though.
I kinda want to make some devlied eggs and stuffed mushrooms. hmm
