mickeyNjudy's Journal Okay, so I haven't written in a long time. Sorry about that. I have been a really busy boy, both at work and at home (and the theatre). I am the only one in the department at work today. Tina is still on vacation in Florida, Erin is moving into her new house, and Rosa started her new job today. So, needless to say, it has been very quiet here today. Sabrina and I went to Qdoba for lunch...and I had one of their steak taco salads. Lemme just say that we definitely need to go back there at lunchtime. Between the hot college students from IUPUI and and the hot medical staffers from the hospital, I was drooling. And it wasn't from the hot sauce I put on my taco salad, either. Sabrina and I were definitely enjoying the eye candy. Mmmm mmmm good! I have read-through tonight for THE SPITFIRE GRILL. Cannot wait. This cast is going to be so amazing. They will be working on vocals for the next three weeks, and then I begin staging on April 17. Between now and then I have two business trips: one to East Lansing, Michigan, from 4/02/06 to 4/04/06 and one to Chicago, Illinois, from 4/11/06 to 4/12/06. In May, I also have to go to Bloomington and Muncie. These are all Teacher Recruitment Fairs. I am trying to recruit new staff for the 2006-07 school year. I hope we can talk some of these education students into relocating! We shall see... The whole Daylight Savings Time curse begins on 4/02/06, too! Time to go around the house and reset all the damn clocks. That is going to be a pain in the bum! Thank you, Mitch Daniels! Ugh. Elizabeth called me about an hour ago very upset. Her mom left her a message that her father had had a heart attack. He was taken to St. Francis Hospital, South Campus. I haven't heard any more news at this point, but I am hoping that everything is okay. After all this heart stuff with my mom, I can definitely relate to her angst. Matthew also mentioned that his mother is having health issues as well. Geez - everyone stay healthy, okay? One hour and ten minutes of work left. Aaron took today off and went to BCP to begin laying out and working on the set...yet another Aaron B. Bailey "work of art!" Wish I could have taken the day off and gone, too, but with everyone else being out of the office, I thought it best if SOMEONE in the HR department was here today. Aren't I just the dedicated employee??? We will have a meeting this Wednesday evening at 7:00 at BCP to generate budgets for next season's shows. I should really start thinking about numbers for PARADE. I am also going to produce PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE for Kari Ann. For once, a producing assignment that will not be so challenging. Lord knows, my first two definitely were. Should be a breeze with her. I also need to think about numbers for the ANNIE Play-A-Part Fundraiser budget. The royalties will be the biggest chunk of that. Hopefully we can get those sponsored once again. That production should be a hoot!!!! Tomorrow, my focus is going to be cleaning up my desk. There is just so much crap. I asked Erin if my new furniture went through. She said that she thought it did. I cannot wait to get it, so that I will have more storage. I am supposed to be getting another filing cabinet as well and getting rid of the bookcase that really has no purpose (other than being a "catch all"). Can't wait! I cannot wait until Tina comes back on Tuesday. It will be too quiet around here again tomorrow with Rosa gone for good and Erin out until Thursday. I am really going to miss my "Little Buddy Across the Hall." That was what I called Rosa. She always could make me laugh. Really gonna miss her alot. I hope her new job is everything that she hopes for. They have reorganized our department and eliminated her position. They added an Assistant Director of Human Resources. The posting deadline is today at 4:30 p.m. Only two people have applied so far, and only one of them is really qualified enough to be considered. With the addition of this position, it should help Erin out immensely and also free up Tina and I from a few things. We may also inherit some of Rosa's old tasks, but that is to be expected as well. Have I mentioned how much I love working here??? Well, I guess that I have rambled on long enough. And to anyone reading this, I am sure that you are probably bored out of your mind, so I will bring this entry to an end. I will try to be better about writing more frequently. Best, Scott It is Friday - Hallelujah!!! I can hardly wait for the weekend. So many wonderful things have happened today, and are going to happen this weekend. I am really looking forward to it. I reconnected with Amanda Lawson today by just getting a wild hair and e-mailing her. She is still in Indianapolis and living on the westside by Cathedral High School. I definitely need to do dinner with her and catch up on things. Tonight Aaron has to do the curtain speech for "Love, Sex & the I.R.S." at Buck Creek because B.J. won't be back in time. Tomorrow night we will be seeing "Urinetown" at Footlite, and then there is strike on Sunday for the BCP show. "The Spitfire Grill" auditions on Monday and Tuesday, and I can hardly wait!!!!!! Asked Erin (my boss) about posting Rosa's job position, and she said that she is taking the opportunity to reorganize the department. Hopefully there are some good things on the horizon!!!! Welp, I am outta here in 10 minutes! Hope you have a great weekend! Current mood: ecstatic.Current music: "Welcome to Gilliad...". It has been an AGE since I have written an entry in my blog, and two both of you who regularly read my dronings, I dearly apologize. There has just been so much going on right now. So, apologies in advance, this entry may drone on even longer!!! Mom had her heart procedure done one week ago yesterday. They "shocked" her heart back into rhythm. Knock on wood, she is feeling great and we hope it lasts! She still tires out, but not as quickly as she used to. It will take her a little bit of time to work back to her normal pace. I keep telling her that this whole heart ordeal may have been a way to get her to slow down a little. She sounds so much more energetic and healthy than she has in almost a year. She was always worn out, and that tended to bother me. Heck, maybe that is my problem. I am always worn out...but I think mine is because of my diabetes. I still need to call Dr. Pollom about the Diabetes Care Center contacting me about my insulin pump consultation. They haven't called yet. I bet he forgot. I would like to get on that soon. I really think it will help alleviate how crappy I feel all the time. I bet that I will feel a big difference. When you feel like crap all the time, it becomes the norm. Mom went with me to my urology appointment yesterday, and I took the rest of the day off. It was a beautiful day to drive to Avon. Dr. Kim checked things out and said that "I graduated" from his care. That was good news. Let's hope that I will never need his care again! (Cross your fingers!) Mom and I then drove to Moody Meats there in Avon, and got meat to fill the freezer for a little while. I found my Brat Burgers that I love!!!! I tried one for the first time at the restaurant in Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. Good stuff! Also got some bacon, sausage, ground beef, and pork chops. Had to get a couple New York strips as well. Love 'em! Should be having some good dinners here in the next few weeks! We had lunch at Longhorn Steak House - yum! While we were eating, Jenny Epple, one of pals from Butler walked in with her baby! I made sure we exchanged e-mail addresses so that she, Christy Walker and I could get together for dinner and catch up. What a surprise! Speaking of surprises, on the way back from lunch I noticed that Avon still has a Dog 'N Suds!!!! Sooooo, I had to have Mom stop so that I could get a Diet Root Beer Freeze! Loooove those! In fact, it makes me want to drive back there today to get another one. I love 'em! We went to Sam's Club and reproduced the pictures for "Love, Sex & the IRS" and also did a little shopping. Then she took me home. A full day for both of us! So much fun, in fact, that I am not motivated at all today at work and don't feel like doing anything! Oh, well... Auditions for "The Spitfire Grill" are this coming Monday and Tuesday. Diann Ryan and Travis Jensen both e-mailed and said that they would not be able to audition due to their schedules. I am hoping that I will get a good turnout of good talent. These roles must be strong singers and actors. We shall see. Can't wait to start working on the show, though! Lunchtime is drawing near. I am starting to get hungry. Had some Low Sugar Apples and Cinnamon oatmeal earlier, but someone's lunch is smelling up the hallway, and it is making me want to munch. Mmmmmmm. The hours are crawling by today... Current mood: restless.Current music: "Carrie...I am the sound of distant thunder...". Tonight is Aaron and my art party. We have over 20 people coming who RSVP'd with a "Yes." If they all come, it is going to be a packed front room! Should be fun. Aaron and G.T. have been at home preparing snacks for tonight and straightening the house as well. I would have taken the day off as well, but I had New Hire Orientation today at work (which went very well). Had lunch with Aaron and G.T. at The Boulevard Cafe today. It was BUSY! For a Monday, that really surprised me. There was only one waitress and she was running her little behind off. Felt sorry for her. Still managed to do lunch in a little more than an hour, though. Wasn't sure that would be the case or not. Welp, gotta finish some things up here at work. It is 10 till 4, and I am outta here in 10 minutes!!!! TTFN! Current mood: excited.Current music: "Steel Pier" - Original Broadway Cast Recording.

It has been a few days since I have written, so I thought that it was time. I have been pretty busy at work these past coupla days, so I am glad that tomorrow is Friday. I am also glad that I don't have to perform a show this weekend. Don't get me wrong, "Something's Afoot" was a blast, and I really loved all the cast members, staff, crew, etc., but it is nice to finally have control over your weekends again. Elizabeth Scoble turned 27 yesterday, so her birthday bash is Saturday night! Should be a good time!!! I am going to see "Love, Sex and the I.R.S." on opening night tomorrow night. Kari Ann is going as well, so maybe I will sit with her and Tony (if he goes). Should be a fun night! Mom also asked for some assistance with the opening night party, so I will help with that as needed after the show. Bring on the shrimp cocktail!!!!! I have been working on the BCP 2006-07 season brochure and the design for next season's website. I am liking how both of them are turning out. The brochure is nearly done, and will need to be printed sometime in April. I think the only "last minute" addition will be adding the credit card information if we can get that project moving and solidified. Can't wait for the weekend. Looking forward to sleeping in on Saturday. I am hoping that G.T. doesn't get to Indy too early! We shall see. We have our Art Party on Monday, 3/06/06...so we will be cleaning the house a lot this weekend in preparation for that. Should be fun. Aaron and I also need to talk about the "menu" for that. Gotta have good and yummy munchies. Not as much as last time, though. We really had a spread...and it lasted forever afterwards!!!! Until next time... Current mood: weird.
Going home today in a half an hour! Yippee!!!!!! I need to go home, get my money orders that people sent me for eBay items and take them to the bank to deposit. Package up the book I sold and take it to the post office, and then come home and take a nap. Or just curl up on the sofa and watch a movie and relax (and possibly fall asleep...). Had a great lunch at Ralph's Great Divide with Tina and Sabrina. Erin is out today and Monday. Tina is out Monday and Tuesday. Geesh! I am trying to decide if I am gonna take time off when Mom has her next heart procedure. She goes in at 6AM, so maybe not...I dunno. I kinda want to be there for Dad. I don't want him to have to shoulder the burden by himself. Feeling better than I did this morning...will probably go to Susie's hat party tonight. Not sure which hat I am going to wear, though. I have so many good ones...we shall see... I hope Susie is feeling better tonight. She didn't have much of a voice last night. Being sold out, I would hate for her to be feeling awful. So many people have been getting sick. Carla (Miss Tweed) is just now getting back to normal after being very sick for the first two weekends! Such is life at this time of year, I guess. I am glad that I have already gotten "the crud" and that it is over! Let's hear it for a great weekend! Current mood: bouncy.
YAY! I am leaving work early today since I have 2.5 hours of vacation/personal time to use by the middle of next week. There are a lot of people out of the office for that same reason during the month of February. Then, hallelujah! We get our new bank of time off on March 1st. Can't wait for that! Will probably go home and sleep. Feeling tres fatigue (fat-ee-gay, a "Something's Afoot" reference) and I think it would do me some good. Mattie, John, Katie, and others from the production of "Joseph" in Noblesville are seeing the show at the Belfry tonight. Should hopefully be a great crowd. Not sure if I will go to the party at Susie's afterwards or not. Depends on how I feel. This show is really taking a lot out of me. God, sometimes I hate being diabetic!!!!!!! Ah, well...enough feeling sorry for myself. Current mood: moody.
Wow! What a surprise! When I got to work this morning, Rosa (one of my co-workers in the Human Resources Department) told me that she may be leaving to take a job at IUPUI. That was a shocker. I didn't even know that she was looking for a new job. She is happy here, but sounds like she might really enjoy this new opportunity. We shall see. Makes me wonder if the department might get reorganized and some changes might occur. Hmmmm.... Well, I decided to go down to BCP with Aaron last night, so I didn't get all of the MP3 conversion completed, but I plan to finish that up on Saturday. We are very close, boys and girls! We have Audrey this weekend, too, so I am sure that there will be some fun stuff planned. I cannot believe that this is the final weekend of "Something's Afoot!" We are sold out for all three shows, too! YAY! [insert applause here] I will be glad when it is over, though. I will definitely miss all the fun romps with Lizzie Borden Scoble ("Scobie") onstage, though. I am so excited and ready to begin working on "The Spitfire Grill." Auditions are March 20 & 21...they are fast-approaching! Well...back to work! More later! Current mood: surprised.Current music: "Just call me angel of the morning...angel...". Two more hours until the workday is over - YIPPEE!!!! Hopefully the time will go quickly! Erin, Tina, and I went to Marco's for lunch this afternoon. I had the orange roughy with broccoli and a side salad with ranch. Delish! It was only $10, too! For such a great lunch, that was really great. I have been there with Aaron for dinner before, but this was the first time for lunch. Aaron is going to the theatre tonight, but I am gonna stay home. I got the program for "Love, Sex and the I.R.S." completed and uploaded to Allegra Printing last night before I went to bed. One more thing off my list! [insert applause here] Tonight I plan to finish converting the music for pre-show, post-show, and intermission to MP3 format and burn the CD. That should finish up all my responsibilities for the BCP show. Aaron and I went to Landmark Cinema at Keystone last night to see the movie, "Mrs. Henderson Presents" with Judy Dench. Hilarious! Also, very serious in moments, but that is expected when a film is set during WWII. I recommend it highly! I can't wait until it is released on DVD. I will definitely add it to my collection. Felt like crap this morning, but I realized that my blood sugar must have been too high when I became extremely thirsty (that is a sure fire sign of high blood sugar). I gave some insulin, and within 15 minutes I felt like a new person. Can't wait to get started on the insulin pump. The Diabetes Care Center has not called me yet. I probably should call Dr. Pollom to follow-up with that. I am certain that the pump will solve the highs and lows I am having with my sugars. Probably will watch a DVD after I am done with the music conversion tonight. I have some new ones that I am wanting to watch, especially the new "Oliver Twist" and my Joan Crawford Collection. Ta ta! Current mood: chipper.
