Todays labor of love was the baking of a Birthday Cake for a special friend of my daughters. It is his 18th Birthday!
How I am longing for the indulgence of a fragrant Bubble Bath ..... and oh, how I am longing for just a sliver of that Birthday Cake!!
Why, what a wonderful idea .... I shall attempt to the impossible! Both at once!

There is a vast difference between "happiness" and "joy". That elusive search for true happiness often leads to utter despair .... but the task of finding small personal joys in everyday life lends itself well to discovering that true "HAPPINESS" was never very far away at all, but right under our feet the entire time we were so desperately focused on the distant horizon.
Happiness is right here ... on a cold rainy day, sitting at my computer, a hot cup of coffee, and a good book like a old friend just waiting for me to pick up right where I left off when I am finished here ... the cats curled up together in one big warm ball of fluff, the dogs gracing me with their comfort by sprawling around, over and near my cold bare feet.
Such joy in simplicity!
