3:51p - tiny coloured sugary goodness - going to be left at the MCA Zine fair Sunday!
Each week, a decorated matchbox with a tiny present hidden inside is left by a girl (and sometimes willing friends) somewhere in her travels. It's a random act of semi-artistic kindness aimed at disrupting someone's day in a tiny but positive way. That's if they dare to pick it up...

The past few weeks have been a cupcake extravaganza, for no particular reason at all, other than they’re cute and sweet and very delicious. There were no birthdays to be celebrated or cheering up to do – my cupcake default just set in. I think it started with this one particular dress. A cream lace mini dress complete with ruffled sleeves and a very puffy skirt that makes me feel, well kinda like a walking cupcake when I wear it. It’s one of those supremely girly/5 year-old-girl-going-to-a-birthday-party dresses that makes you sit up straighter and swear less and whenever I wear it my mind (and heart) just says cupcakes.

I’m super vigilant about nursing the little things home in their respective boxes, careful not to bump them and squish their icing. I can run through the city at peak hour and still make sure no one bumps my precious cargo. And in the car, I make sure they’re wearing a seatbelt and that I drive especially carefully over speed bumps. It’s pretty pathetic how much I baby them.

And so this week, we have hundreds and thousands as an invitation to bake or buy. Or better still, make fairy bread with!

My latest discovery has been cupcakes from the Biscuit Tree, a friend of my most favourite food blogger Raging Yoghurt. Hers have a disproportionate amount of (deliciously flavoured) icing on the cake – honey is my absolute favourite! I’m sad she doesn’t have a permanent stockist as yet, which means my craving for Biscuit Tree cupcakes can’t be satisfied on a whim but I’m more than happy to look forward to her appearance at the Epping night food markets each month. I actually dreamed about her cupcakes the night before the markets – it was a sure sign that I had to stop by. And luckily I did because she slipped in a green tea one just this Friday past to my greedy stash of 3, and it was great. Thank you Biscuit Tree!
