poor neglected blurty, no one updates to you anymore
We (the fiancee and I) went up to Orlando this weekend. We saw my best friend and his girlfriend and went out to dinner with them on Saturday night. We crashed at their house and the next morning we went to Sea World to see Nicci's cousin Katie. Katie's husband is in Iraq right now, but is currently not on the front lines as he was recently thrown from a humvee going around 80 mph. He broke his toe, broke or dislocated his jaw (we won't know until the swelling goes down a bunch), lacerated his head above his right eye, and is bruised pretty much all over. Not bad, considering how he got injured. We're all hoping they send him home to recouperate.
I'm down a total of about 40 pounds since starting weight watchers. I am starting to feel really good. I've been walking during my lunch break, and playing basketball in the mornings on Tues and Thurs. When we got on the rollercoaster at Sea World Sunday, I was able to actually get my ass all the way down into the fat person seat without any effort and I was able to pull the thing down and fasten the buckles without any help. When we went to Sea World in March, I wasn't able to do that. I had to squueze my ass down into the seat and they had to force the restraint thingy down on me and fasten the buckles. I almost couldn't ride it. But last weekend, there was even space between my chest and the restraint, which was oh so cool. I am even able to wear my silver 'One Ring' that Nicci got me for Valentine's Day last year. I'm wearing it on my left hand ring finger so I can get used to wearing a ring there. I've never worn jewelry of any kind, and I don't ever plan on removing my wedding band, so I want to get used to the feeling before the wedding.
Speaking of the wedding, things are coming along nicely. We really haven't done a whole lot more planning yet (it's still nine months away). I've got 3 of the 4 groomsmen presents in and Nicci's got her 4 bridesmaid presents, but is still short the person of honor gift (her best friend Tom is going to be the 'maid of honor' but as he's a guy, you can't really call him a maid). I think I've found the style and accent color for my tux, but that can wait another 6 months or so. We've started going through our stuff to see what we have and what we need so we can register for stuff. I've got basically nothing, while Nicci has nearly everything already. Nicci's parents should be signing the contract for the country club today and putting down half of the cost for the catering. It is looking like we'll be expecting 125-140 people for this. It turns out it may actually be nearly 50% on each side, which I really didn't expect. But then again, I don't know who will actually be coming, but I've got a list of nearly 70 people I'm inviting. I've started looking into the honeymoon, and there's a nice vacation package through AAA that looks promising. It's 2 days in Paris, followed by 4 days in London. But AAA can't book it yet, they said to check back in September. My mom knows a travel agent, so I think if AAA drags their ass, I'll be going through my mom's friend. She has another friend that is a DJ, and if he has the appropriate insurance, we'll most likely hire him for the music. There really isn't a whole let left to do, we still need to secure a photographer and a florist, and get a final head count, send out invitations, and I think that's it.
Current mood: working.

Last Thursday, my fiance and her mom went out looking at places to hold the wedding. They found a place that they liked, and I went with them on Friday and looked at it, and agreed that it would be the perfect place for us. So now we have the date and time actually set. It will be Saturday March 5th, 2005 at 5:00 PM with the reception to be from 6-11 PM at the Westchester Country Club here in Boynton Beach. The country club has a great menu and decent prices for the catering services, and the price includes the wedding cake.
Saturday, they went dress shopping. Now since both Nicole and I are on weight watchers, and we've both lost more than 25 pounds in the last 3 months, and the wedding is still over nine months away, I don't understand why they had to go out and shop for them already. At least she now has an idea of what she likes and what she wants, and about how much it'll cost. She's also already picked out her bridesmaid dresses. She's also already got or ordered her bridesmaid gifts. She is really on the ball and getting everythign taken care of.
I was looking online at tuxedos last night and I have seen some that I like, and in a couple months, I'll go and seriously look at styles and colors. Hopefully by then I'll have lost some more weight. I'd like to get a single breasted tux, but only if I'm thin enough to fit into it and have it look good. I've got two of my four groomsmen gifts ordered already, and will be ordering the third today. I've also ordered a sixpence for Nicole to have in her shoe for the wedding. I can't believe that a sixpence costs $9.00. Oh well, the things we do to for love. Lots of stuff done, yet tons more still to do.
I'm still trying to get a decent picture of the ring and of me and Nicole to put in an entry. We had some pictures taken a couple weeks ago, and are waiting to get them back. We tried taking a picture with my mom's digital camera, but it's f'ed up and can't take a decent close-up picture of it (even though it's a 5 Megapixel). My mom is really rough on electronics, she's killed two laptops this year, and has already sent her digital camera back for service once.

A couple things to update everyone on.
1) School is over and grades are out
2) Damn computer
3) I no longer have a girlfriend
I guess I'll start with number one.
This semester was a smashing success. I got a B+ in my Freshmen Composition II calss, an A- in History of Civilization, and an A in General Psychology. I was going to go over the summer, but decided I needed a break. I don't know what I'll be taking next semester, but I suppose I should start taking math classes, as I am a mathematics major.
The computer is up and running, but still only has one processor. I've been going back and forth with the retailer I've purchased the processors from for weeks (months) now and I still only have one processor. I am starting to get more than a little upset. If I don't have the processor by Wednesday next week, there will be hell to pay. But other than that, the computer is screamingly fast. I love it, it runs so nice.
Finally, number three.
Yesterday I bought and gave Nicole an engagement ring. She said yes, so she's no longer my girlfriend, she's my fiance. Tentative plans indicate a date in April (Spring break during school semester) with likely the honeymoon to England. I'm very excited, nervous, happy, etc.
Other than that, not much has been going on. I haven't been on IRC much because I've playing Pharoh, and also because work has decided that chat clients have been the reason that the bandwidth on our T1 is pegged to the max. So I've been having to get by on the java client from dalnet's website which sucks very much.
I guess that's it.
*update* We've set March 5th 2005 as the date.

Well, the semester is nearly at an end. I've finished with classes, and I have finals on Friday this week and Monday next week. I did well this semester, if I don't bomb my finals, I shold have 2 A's and a B or 3 A's. I'm so glad this semester is finally done.
I moved my best friend JD to Orlando on Saturday. He and his girlfriend got an apartment. He was working at a Gateway store, and was going to transfer to a store in Orlando, but when they closed earlier this month, that put a bit of a damper on that plan. He has since secured employment at a Volkswagon dealership selling cars. He's a natural salesman, and could sell Bill Gates and Apple.
I showed up at his house Saturday at 7am, and the Uhaul arrived around 7:30. We got everything loaded by 9:30 and we were on our way. We got to his girlfriends house around 12:30 and got her stuff packed and were on our way again by 1:15 (she didn't have much stuff). We got to the new house before 2:00 and were done unloading everything by 4:30. After a brief respite, we were offf agiam, this time to Rooms To Go, where his brother bought them a couch and coffee table. We got back to the house and left shortly thereafter (around 6:00). Got back to town sore, sweaty, and tired at 9pm. It was a long, tough, emotional day, but fun was had, as we are a jovial group, and I was in rare form with my (in)famous wit and sarcasm.
I talked to one of the local jewelery stores, and they say they can get a Tsavorite for the engagement ring I want. I'll be going there on Thursday to look at rings and mountings and such. I have loads of time until I need it, but I figure that the earlier I get it the better, and the sooner I can get to paying it off. If I get a chance, and figure out how to post pictures, I'll make a post and put a picture of it up. Nicole and I are trying to arrange a trip to DisneyWorld in August, and I think I'm going to do it there. Have someone take a picture for us in front of the castle, and right before they take it, do the whole done on the knee thing. It should work really good, as Nicole is a HUGE Disney nut.
I've now been on Wieght Watchers for a little more than 7 weeks, and I've lost about 25 pounds. I don't know exactly how much I've lost, as I didn't weigh myself for the first two weeks, as I didn't want to know what I weighed. But After the second week, I was at 304, and Saturday night I was down to 285. At the rate I've been losing weight, I figure I was at 310 when I started, and thus have lost 25 pounds. I know that I've lost 19 since the first time I weighed myself, so that's something. My clothes are starting to get really loose, and my face is thinning back out. I swear, this is the easiest 'diet' I've ever been on. I don't see any problems with staying on it. I've got another 85 pounds that I'd like to lose, and I figure that I will be able to take it off within a year. I figure I'll be down to about 250 in August when Nicole and I go on our vacation to DisneyWorld.
Computer Update time.
I got the matched processor last week, but it was defective, so it has been sent back and I am awaiting yet another replacement. But after much troubleshooting and reinstalling of Windows, the system is back up and running, and running really well.

This update is in response to Keeping busy online by
Well, I must admit that I've not been my usual presence on IRC or blurty or livejournal since the new year, but I have been around. Maybe you should ask LSSS how much he's been online lately? I've not seen him since BEFORE the new year. I was on for quite a while either thurdsay or friday last week. I've pretty much given up on seeing you online, as you never are online anymore (shifting blame back over to you ;P). Not that it's ALL your fault (mostly, but not entirely).
It's been kinda busy at work lately. We have one guy (the one who closes with me) out indefinitely with a degenerative nerve condition. We've had other people out on vacation and such. The saturday schedule has been reworked, so that everyone has to work saturdays (which ends up being around 4 a year). The people who had never worked saturdays before were a little upset about this, but the few of us who are left that have been working saturdays for the last 2 1/2 years are very happy. The next saturday I hae to work is Feb 28. The email support requests have been backed up as well. It appears that our UK office is either a) woefully understaffed b) completely incompetent c) lazy or d) any combination of a,b,& c. So we've been having to dop their email requests as well.
I started another semester last two weeks ago. I'm taking English Composition 2, General Psychology, and History of World Civilization. Two of them are Gordon Rule classes. Gordon Rule is a stupid thing that requires you to write a minimum of 6,000 words and earn at least a C in order to get credit for taking it. It appears also to only be a Florida State school thing. It's not a bad thing, but rather annoying.
I'd been wanting to build that system I mentioned in LJ or blurty this month, but financially, I think it would be best to wait until maybe March. I still have the new bed to pay for, three birthdays and valentine's day to pay for. I've also put a fair amount on my credit card since Christmas (I bought an mp3 player last weekend, a nice one with a 20GB hard disk drive).
This thursday marks the year anniversary of my step father's death. I'm not sure how that's going to go, but thankfully, it's the last of the 'firsts' that we have to go through (first birthdays, first valentine's day, thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.). Hopefully, things will begin to get better for my mom. She seems o.k., but she internalizes pretty much everything (I do the same) and it's really hard to tell sometimes what she's thinking/feeling. Maybe, by the end of this year, she'll be ok to be on her own, and I can finally get out of the house and begin an 'independant' life. Hmmm, this probably should be a blurty/lj update....
Anyway, that's what I've been up to lately. Hopefully I'll see you online (if we ever decide to go on IRC again).
