Yep, 2nd day of a 4 day weekend. I love having Good Friday and Easter Monday off.

Well, not much happened most of the week. Dad came 'round for tea and we're probably gonna be moving again in about a month's time. The owners of the flat are leaving the letting agency and we'd be dealing directly with them. Ollie doesn't mind that but our flatmate and I aren't. It also means that we could get a bigger place and not be so cramped.

After work on Thursday, Ollie and I caught up with a friend from Tempo that we've not seen in a while We went to see The Recruit, a very good film. Colin Farrell is brilliant in it. Then Ollie and I spent yesterday just relaxing. We went back to the cinema to see Bulletproof Monk and Phone Booth. Both excellent films again. After the cinema, we went into a couple of shops in Gorgie. One was a charity shop and I got a pair of jeans and trainers for £7.

Today we visited a couple of friends for lunch and fussed over their very cute 6 month old baby. I took quite a few pictures because she is seriously cute. She has one of the most expressive faces I've ever seen on a baby.

Just waiting on Pizza Hut delivering the pizzas for tea. Couldn't be bothered cooking. Anyway, I'm gonna go now. Charmed is getting good!

Just been watching "25 years of Smash Hits" on TV. I used to buy that magazine religiously when I was a teenager and the programme was showing clips of Take That which was bad enough (I was a huge fan and used to be crazy about Mark Owen) but they also showed Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan. I remember when I was 8, getting my sister to buy their duet, "Especially For You", for me. My first concert was a Jason Donovan concert! Yes, I'm owning up to the crime of being a teenybopper in my youth but hey I was young and stupid! *LOL*

I went shopping this afternoon and bought "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" DVD. Some of the special features are pretty good and others are definitely for the kids. I wanted to get "Cabaret" but they were only selling the £19.99 30th Anniversary edition DVD so I'll see if I can rent it. I only want to watch it so I can have an idea of how to play Sally Bowles when I do the audition. I'll probably not get the part but I want to make a decent stab at the audition.

Anyway enough of this. I'm off to reminisce some more about my early teens. How sad am I?*LOL*

Watched Sundays episode of 24 at last! Wow....what an episode. It's up there with Rosetta from Smallville. What a predicament. I really wanna see how Jack manages to get out of it!

Not much else to say really except I did Emode's inkblot test and I got this:

Lynsey, your unconscious mind is driven most by Peace

You are driven by a higher purpose than most people. You have a deeply-rooted desire to facilitate peacefulness in the world. Whether through subtle interactions with love ones, or through getting involved in social causes, it is important to you to influence the world.

You are driven by a desire to encourage others to think about the positive side of things instead of focusing on the negative. The reason your unconscious is consumed by this might stem from an innate fear of war and turmoil. Thus, to avoid that uncomfortable place for you, your unconscious seeks out the peace in your environment.

Usually, the thing that underlies this unconscious drive is a deep respect for humankind. You care about the future of the world, even beyond your own involvement in it. As a result, your personal integrity acts as a surrogate for your deeper drive toward peace and guides you in daily life towards decisions that are respectful toward yourself and others.

Though your unconscious mind is driven most strongly by Peace, there is much more to who you are at your core.

Tempo's doing a concert in the 2nd week of June and rehearsals start a week this Sunday! Yaay! I am soooo there! They're also planning to do Cabaret in the Edinburgh Festival but with a reduced company so auditions for that are 2 weeks today and auditions for Sally Bowles are the following Sunday. Definitely going to both auditions - nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Been kinda quiet the past couple of days but Dad's coming 'round for tea again this week so that'll be nice. I'm also considering doing a part-time or Open University degree in languages so I've got a few prospectuses coming through.

Anyway, gonna go get food. Really hungry! Might post later tonight if I've anything worth saying. *LOL*

Well the past few days have been busy!

Spent Friday night at Diane's as per usual. We don't go to the Mercat anymore bacause it's not like it used to be anymore. Anyway, Ollie and I practiced our songs for the competition on Saturday, had a good few drinks and generally had a good night.

Yesterday we went to see Shanghai Knights before we went to Leith Town Hall for the competition. Very funny film riddled with references. Kinda wierd seeing Aiden Gillen playing the bad guy and hearing him talk with an english accent.

Anyway, got down to the Town Hallf or 4.30 for the soundcheck which didn't start until 5.15 and that set the tone for the rest of the evening. We started singin an hour and a half after we were due to start. Ollie and I never placed but we had fun. Barbara Dickson bever made it but Grant Stott Andy Gray and Margo MacDonald were there. Grant Stott and Andy Gray were really nice. Ollie and I chatted to them briefly afterwards.

Then today we had Ollie's sister and her boyfriend over for luch and dinner. Spent a very pleasant afternoon watching Buffy and The Mummy Returns.

After updating last night I watched the Definite Article video (hence the entry title). It's been along time since I watched it and I'd forgotten how funny it is. Been on a musicals night tonight though. Ollie put on the Les Mis TAC recording earlier and I'm now listening to one of Michael Ball's musica albums. Wow!!!!

Got my costumes for the competition on Saturday. One is an absolutely gorgeous black velvet dress I'm seriously tempted to buy off the Lyceum Wardrobe department. I'm gonna get pics of Ollie and I in costume which I'll post as soon as I can get 'em developed and scanned. I still can't believe I'm going to be singing in front of Barbard Dickson.....I was kinda brought up listening to her. It'll be amazing to meet her. I'm toying with the idea of getting her to sign my Chess CD.

Feeling tired now so the less time I spend in front of the computer the better. Can't seem to drag myself away though. *LOL*

I'm an early adopter! Fab!!!!!! Okay, I get excited way too easily. *lol*

Well my life over the past few days has been fairly uneventful but here's the lowdown since Monday.

Monday night I got to watch 'Rosetta' - the most recent Smallville episode. One of the best episodes of any TV series in my opinion. I liked the irony of the Christopher Reeve cameo although it wasn't done in the cheesy, "we've got the original Superman, let's make lots of 'clever' references to that in the dialogue" way which was good.

Ollie and I went to the cinema last night for the first time in ages. Decided we'd better make the effort considering we're still paying for our UGC Unlimited cards. We wound up seeing Equilibrium. Very cool film! Christian Bale is superb in it and the fight scenes are jaw-droppingly well choreographed. Sean Bean in yet another angsty part (albeit small).

Work was kinda crap today, only for one incident really. Basically, the department I work in was accused of missing something which we hadn't. When it was proved so, we didn't even get an apology which annoyed me more than the accusation in a way. Still, I got to go out at lunchtime and try on costumes for the competition final on Saturday night. I have what I'm gonna wear in the first song, I just need to find my second outfit so I'm going back again tomorrow.

Okay, so it's not much better but weekly is better than randomly like before.

Well, the week was pretty uneventful up 'til Thursday apart from having Dad 'round for tea on Tuesday. I also got the photos I took on the last night of City of Angels. Some of them are really nice.

Anyway, on Thursday we went along to the last heat of the Megabowl karaoke competition. I was severely cheesed off after not getting through last week as I'd sang my best and the guy hosting it thought I'd actually got somewhere. I was seriously considering not entering but Ollie kinda talked me into it. Anyway, I came in second on Thursday and so I'm through to the final next Saturday. Ollie's also through. He was on a wildcard, having come third in an earlier heat and on Thursday they announce that 2 out of the 4 wildcards would be going through to the final and the other 2 would be reserves in case someone pulled out. Ollie was one of the 2 who got picked out to go through to the final.

On Friday after work I went line-dancing for the first time in over a year. I was actually surprised at how much I remembered. I was sure I'd be a beginner again but I was able to do a lot of the dances.

Last night was meant to be a girly night out with a few friends I've not seen in a while. The plan was to go for a meal and then onto a club but in between ordering and the starter arriving I took what I think was a migraine. I got through the meal but I had to cry off going to the club. I was actually sick with it and felt awful.

It was all gone when I got up today though and I'm feeling much better. I think I'll be having a lazy day though. Possibly going to the cinema later on.

Early hours of Friday morning, while Ollie and I's flatmate was on a night out, the woman who's been harassing her turned up at the flat. She was hanging on our intercom from 3.30 a.m. to 4 a.m. and left a voicemail on our flatmate's mobile of her doing this.

Ollie's been away at the National University Gaming Society competition this weekend so our flatmate and I went out on Friday to say goodbye to a friend of mine who was going to work abroad for a while. A lot of people there I used to be close to and two people who were amongst the ones I'd been closest to practically ignored me. Flatmate & Iwound up staying for an hour and then moved on to another pub.

Last night was our flatmate's birthday night out. We had a good night up until the woman who'd been harassing her turned up. Various other things happened as well which I'll not go into here but suffice to say our flatmate's wishing she hadn't bothered and I'd like Ollie to have been here.

One good thing about last night was that I got to catch up wth a friend I've not seen in ages. I still feel really bad for our flatmate though.

Not been up to that much recently. I'm still working away (and very tired for it!). Ollie and I have been enetering the Megabowl karaoke competition but we're not through to the grand final yet. The competition has been tough so far though.

A few weeks ago I met up with people from the Wicca UK site. Had a nice time. The seemed really nice people and there's gonna be a moot every 2 months by the sounds of things so that'll be good.

I've not updated in soo long! I've not been well. Last week after Ollie and I got back from Arbroath last weekend I was feeling a bit bunged up two days later I'm having to take time off work because I'm feeling so awful.

Anyway, went round to see a friend I've not seen in ages and got to watch Hedwig and the Angry Inch. I've been wanting to watch that for a while but Ollie never fancied it. It is such a good film and so I'll be getting that on DVD at some point.

Spent some time doing a few updates on the Eponine section of my website. Kinda been neglecting it but it's going to get bigger and better! Since Ollie will be at Watt Gamers most Sunday afternoons, and I'll also have Sunday evenings until rehearsals start up again, that gives me plenty of time to work on the site.

Anyway, I'm hungry and so I'll gonna nip down to the co-op and get tea in.

Well, Dad was round tonight so we spent a little time catching up which was nice. I definately have to invite him round more often.

Fell for a hoax today, the one about the ACE virus that affects mobile phones. There's no such thing because mobiles have no writable software so can't be affected by the types of viruses that exist at the moment. Still, at least now I know.

Anyway I'm tired. Off to bed I think!

I had to! I'm sorry! Ollie and I are going to see Voulez-vous at the Festival Theatre tonight. It's my Valentine's treat...it's early because the show is only on tonight. Really looking forward to it.

Mercat was back on last night and it was good fun. Did the best rendition of Lady Marmalade I've ever done! Unfortunately the system broke down about an hour and a half before the end of night. Not so good but we had fun while it lasted.

Apperently the Megabowl Competition is on again so I think I'll be heading along to that!

The photo's from the show are up on the internet. The only one you can really see Ollie and I clearly in I've linked below We're the couple on the far left.

This new job is hectic......but in a good way. At least I'm being kept busy most of the time unlike at my last job. To be fair it was the kind of job that went in peaks and troughs. I am wiped though!

Got myself the first season of 24 on DVD at the weekend so Ollie and I are working our way through it before the new season starts on the 16th February. Thoroughly enjoying it and we've got 8 episodes left to watch. It's VERY addictive viewing. Just when you think you've got things figured out....a new twist is thrown in.

I also got myself a hamster. He's called Rusty and is sooooooo cute!!! He's ickle and a bit looney. Very, very lively!

It snowed on Imbolc so Ollie agreed to me being able to celebrate it in the flat. Definitely an advantage being able to keep warm :-). Cleaned the flat before i did anything so it was looking highly presentable for once!

Pizza's just arrived. Our oven's broke and I couldn't be bothered to cook anything anyway so we called Pizza Hut. I'm gonna go and eat. TTFN!

It's been a great run. Kinda quiet up until the review appeared in the Evening News but still been good. I feel like the run was longer than 10 performances but then that's the longest run I've ever done for a show. Last night was the best! The show went amazingly well and it was the most responsive audience yet. It was kinda sad when we got to the last scene. It was like "awww....this is the last time we'll get to do this". I got a lot of good pictures last night of everyone in costume so I've got a lot to remember the show by.

I was so hyper after the show finished . The party was good fun. Danced like a maniac most of the night which is something I've not done in a while. Usually don't have the energy but I had such a rush of adrenaline after the show.

I didn't mention this in the last post, mainly 'cause I've only had the time to post that quick post giving the link to the review but I got a job. I'm working at Axios Systems as an administrator now. It seems a good enough job and hopefully it'll work out for me.
