Subject:Bringing everything up to speed
Time:5:07 pm.
Well since I last posted promising I'd better (which I didn't really - doh!), I've been in a very successful run of Annie in the Fringe. I'm taking part in a medical study and I have a new job.

There's more detail in my LiveJournal but I wil be mirroring posts from now on.

Time:8:48 pm.
Mood: mellow.
Music:"Once More With Feeling" soundtrack.
Okay, second consecutive flatmate that's left and not paid stuff. Ollie & I's flatmate has moved out and left Edinburgh, we don't have a new address for her but she's left unpaid rent, council tax and electricity. It totals about £500 - £600 and unfortunately Ollie and I are liable for it 'cos all of names were put on everything so we're all liable for the full amount. The only way we can get in touch with our (now ex)flatmate is via e-mail which she appears to be ignoring, GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!! If we don't hear from her and wind up paying for it all, I'm gonna be seriously angry and won't hesitate to tell her exactly what I think of her if I ever see her again. I know that not exactly scary threats but hey, I stick to my strengths and verbal bashing is mine.

On the lighter side of things, rehearsals are going well. The kids join us from this Sunday which'll be good although we'll need to watch our language (not that it'll be difficult for most of us). I also entered into a local radio singing competition but I don't think I've got anywhere in it which is a bit of a bummer. I'm hoping to enter into a show call "Musicality" for Channel 4. It's like "Operatunity" but it's for people who want to get into musical theatre but I need to get a video made which will be the difficult part

Subject:Back from London
Time:12:09 pm.
Mood: content.
Music:Lose Your Illusions - Frances Ruffelle.
Had a fabulous time in London. The shows were amazing and I'm glad Ollie enjoyed his birthday treat. I got to see Chicago and Ollie saw Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on Friday and we both saw Les Mis as well as We Will Rock You on the Saturday. Apparently CCBB was fantastic so we'll probably go the next time we're in London. Chicago was brilliant, better than the film by miles. Les Mis was amazing as ever and WWRY was mind-blowing - even better than when we first saw it.

I was lucky enough to get meet Frances Ruffelle, Ruthie Henshall and I also got to meet Jon Lee. They were all brief meetings though, I didn't really say much more than ask for their autograph and thank them. Unfortunately Tony Vincent ducked out a side door after WWRY so I didn't get to meet him again. I can understand why though, after all he's been ill and probably a little bit freaked after being chased the night before but it was still kinda dissapointing.

In other news, I didn't get Star-to-Be or a part as a Boylan Sister which I'm also dissapointed about but I suppose there's not much I can do about it - ensemble is still fun anyway. I missed my recall for the Planet Out Pop Idol competition so I'm probably out of that now. Not even started on NaNoWriMo yet, not sure if I will but I'll just need to wait and see.

Well I need to go, the flat's a mess and I need to get it sorted for my dad & sister coming round for tea tonight.

I was at the Planet Out Pop Idol auditions this afternoon. I made the recalls next week which should be good, We'll need to do group work next week which will be fun. Fortunately I'll have plenty of time between getting back from London and the recalls, I just hope it doesn't keep me late for rehearsals.

Speaking of which, tonight's the night of auditions for the Boylan Sisters and the Star-to-Be. I can't remember the harmony line I was given....Eeek!!! I suppose heading over to my keyboard and plucking it out might help but I've about an hour to do the Musical Director might even be kind enough to recap the parts before the auditions.

I'm mad! I just signed up to NaNoWriMo. What have I let myself in for?

Yet another month has gone by and again I've not been up to that much. The trip to London at the end of the month for Ollie's birthday has been booked. The flights are paid for, so are the tickets for We Will Rock You. So hyped up about it. Not only are we gonna get to see a fantastic show again but we're gonna get to meet Tony Vincent again! (hopefully). The other weekend I was just randomly surfing the internet and about collapsed when I found out Frances Ruffelle & Ruthie Henshall are playing Roxie and Velma in Chicago. Hopefully we'll get tickets for that while we're down. I will flip if we get tickets and get to meet Frances Ruffelle, Ruthie Henshall and Tony Vincent in one weekend!

Since I last updated I also visited one of my flatmates form uni. She lives in Newcastle and the weekend before her birthday I went to join her on a night out in Newastle. We had a great time (apart from the random guys trying to grope us every 5 minutes). I also managed to see another friend from uni who I've not seen at all since I left so that was fun.

At the moment our flat's kinda fun (and not in a good way). Ollie's ill with some sort of viral infection which has mainly gone but his throat is killing him. He can barely speak. The doctor said he can only treat it symptomatically so it Halls Soothers for him! Rusty, my hamster, has either an inner ear infection or a tumor. His balance is gone so he's on antibiotics which should take care of any infection but if he's not improved by Monday I can assume it's a tumor or growth of some sort.

Subject:Again with the long time, no update (spotting a theme developing here?)
Time:6:49 pm.
This is partly due to my complete laziness and partly due to Ollie completely rebuilding his computer and wackiness ensuing with the functionality of the computer.

Anyway, the past month has been pretty hectic. "Cabaret" went amazingly. We were sold out every night and we got some fantastic reviews. Having said that, one night had to be cancelled due to contractual difficulties but aside from that it was great. We've already started preparing for the January show which is going to be Annie. For the second time in 5 years I'm going to be in a production of Annie. *LOL*

Granny's funeral was very difficult but the service was beautiful and I think I've paved the way to heal some old wounds which is good.

Work's frustrating as ever. The latest addition to the department seems to be terminally thick and doesn't pull her weight. As a person she's generally very nice, if a little immature and superficial at times, but as a work colleague she's a nightmare! I'm well aware I'm by no means perfect but she takes the biscuit.

Most recently, one of my friends got married. In fact it was on Staurday just passed. Ollie and I were invited to the whole day and it was an amazing day. My friend looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress. Her fiancé, now husband, did a complete double-take when she stepped up next to him at the altar. The meal afterwards was fantastic and the reception was fantastic. A little bit of a disco sandwiched inbetween two sets played by a local celidgh band. Great night!

Anyway, must go. Not had dinner yet!

Time:11:10 pm.

Music:Monsoon - Robbie Williams.
I have left this journal soooo long and I really didn't mean to. To be honest there wasn't much going on in my klife that was worth writing about. I was working, rehearsing....generally living. Anyway, over the past week or so, a few things have happened.

Firstly, last Saturday during Pirates of the Carribean I had a migraine and a pretty bad one at that. I was physically sick with it. Cue me feeling rather crap for a few days, coming down with cold and making doctor's appointment to try and narrow down a trigger for the migraines.

On Thursday morning my Granny died. She'd been down in Norwich visiting one of my aunts, had a stroke. She began to recover but then a few days before she died she'd slipped into a coma. I hadn't seen or spoken to her in years so it was really depressing that it happened when I was planning on trying to sorting things out with all my family. To add to it all, the funeral is going to be on Thursday, my birthday. I've been emotionally up and down for the past few days and not sleeping that well so I'm really drained.

Not only am I having to deal with all thta but our flatmates having a tough time at the moment due to various factors and so our flat is fun place to be at the moment. It can only get better though.

I 'm so looking forward to this next week off work. I'll really need the rest although I've got the show to keep me occupied in the evenings. We open tomorrow night and it's going to be a fantastic show. I'm hoping we're going to get fantastic audiences. Tickets are selling really well so it should be a busy run.

I've been unbelieveably busy over the past month or so and it would take too long to go into great detail about it so I'll give you the brief headlines. The show went well althought it was a shame it was only 2 nights. We could easily have kept going for a week although whether we could have got bug audiences every night would have been the challenge. I've become addicted to the Discworld online MUD game. I'm playing as Lyns the Witch (surprise, surprise! *LOL*)

The biggest thing is that I've also started talking to my sister again, which is great. She basically invited me to a quiz night through Dad so I went and we've kept in touch since. We've met for lunch and drinks, she came to the show and we're going to see Robbie Williams in concert next weekend. Dad's as over the moon about us getting back in touch as we are but that's only to be expected.

I finished reading Order of the Phoenix about half an hour ago. Fantastic book!!! I won't give away any spoilers on this main post to spare those who haven't read it yet but anyone who wants to discuss it (because I'm itching to!) just add comments and I'll reply to them.

Subject:Yay!!! We got broadband digital TV and land-line back!
Time:12:48 am.
Mood: tired.
I can now surf the internet from the comfort of my own bedroom again so I'm back to being able to update regularly.

Not much has happened in the past week and a bit anyway. Mainly been settling into the flat and getting used to walking to work again. I've also seen quite a bit of my dad which is always good and generally working and surviving.

Started going to a nightclass for French because I've not really used French since I left school and since my dad might be moving to France when he retires I thought I'd better keep up my French so I'll get by when I visit him. It was fun, we did a bit of talking reading and listening and then for the last 15/20 minutes we watched Jean de Florette.

Tonight Ollie and I were out for the birthday of one of Ollie's friends. We went to see The Matrix Reloaded and then went to a Mongolian style restaurant. Very nice but definitely to be saved for special occasions as it wasn't cheap but it was worth it as the food was excellent.

On a not so good note, the line-dancing class may be no more. The instructor got really annoyed by the attitude of one or two of the older people in the class and also a bit frustrated because we were doing the same dances week in, week out. Shhe said she'd have a think about it when she'd calmed down but at the moment it's not on anymore. :-(

Anyway, I'd better going. Really tired now!

Time:8:36 pm.
Yup, the new flat is great. Much more spacious than the other flat. I can also walk to work which is good. I'll be getting the exercise I used to.

Not much else has been happening really. Seen Dad quite a bit which was nice. Cabaret rehearsals start on Sunday and in 13 or 14 weeks it'll all be over. Scarily little time for it all to happen! Just 4 weeks to the concert so I really need to get selling tickets.

Anyway, having trouble getting Telewest in the flat. There's no existing connection there so we'll need everything installed from scratch and that means getting permission so it could be a while before we have internet access at the flat. I'll not be so regular with my updates but hopefully I'll manage to stop by a netcafe at least once a week.

Just for a laugh, I adopted a battle imp! Follow the link below to battle it.

.....and Ollie and I have packed nothing yet! Still, between the 2 of us it shouldn't take long. Ollie's also off on Friday so that'll help. The good thing is the antibiotics course finishes on Satuday morning so by Saturday night I'll be alright to relax by having a celabratory glass of wine when we've finished moving.

I'm a bit nervous about tomorrow. I'm going to Mum's aunt's funeral. I want to go because she was good to me and was a very nice woman. The thing is, obviously, that Mum's going to be there. That's going to be uncomfortable and I'm not sure if I can handle it but I want to be there.

Work was wierd today. I'm getting very paranoid because I know I'm doing my job no differently than before, and I've made no fatal mistakes, but it feels like I'm being tested and it's not going well. I'm usually a little paranoid about most things but this is taking it far, even for me.

Just back from concert rehearsal. We started setting numbers tonight so spent most of the time dancing. I'm gonna be a singer in"All That Jazz" during the Chicago section. He he he!!! I loooove that song! It's not gonna be a 'Honey Bun' deal where I'm a backing singer but it's not a solo either. I don't know what the arrangement is going to be but I don't really care. I was picked to do it.

I didn't get the part of Sally in Cabaret but hey, I'm still in it so I'm happy! The girl who got the part is good so it was no shame to lose out to her. I wasn't expecting it anyway. I just went for the audition experience and to get myself seen.

The Wicca UK moot last night was a good night again. Just spent the night chatting and generally setting the world to rights. I couldn't drink though. I got put on a week long course of antibiotics last night so no alcohol until I finish the course. Grrrr!

Subject:A small rant on voting and some randomness.
Time:9:16 am.
Mood: contemplative.
Music:Don't Let Me Get Me - Pink.
The only major thing in the past few days was the Scottish Parliamentary Elections yesterday. I was among the minority who actually bothered to vote. The turnout was 46% in my area and I think it was just under 50% for Scotland overall.

I don't understand people who think that not voting actually achieves anything but then moan about the government. If you don't like it there's only one way to change it and it's certainly not by ignoring elctions. Not to sound like the TV adverts but the only statement made by not voting is that you don't give a damn. There were a lot of people dead against the war in Iraq but it seems they don't wish to carry that to the ballot boxes because this morning there have been been some gains for other parties but the majority is still held by Labour and the Lib Dems.

Anyway, I'm going to quit with the politics's never a good topic to stay on. Quite a few minor things have happened. Found out that we're moving into the new flat next weekend. Woo-hoo!!! I'm registered with and submitted my Eponine story to it. I'm probably gonna write a few other fanfics now I have a forum for submittng fics about any topic. Hmm, maybe a Buffy or Angel fic!

Yup! I was told at the concert rehearsal after the Sunday's audition that I'm definitely in the company. It's undecided who's being given what part yet though. I seriously doubt I'll be a Kit Kat Club dancer and there's not much more chance of me getting Sally I think. I'm probably looking at being a Kit Kat Club singer or just general ensemble. Still, I'm going to be in a show in the Fringe! Never done it before so I'm looking forward to it, particularly the Cavalcade at the start of the festival. That should be fun.

In other news, I went to see "Dreamcatcher" last night. Pretty good film all in all but according to Ollie, doesn't do the book justice. I've also dyed my hair again. I'm really blonde now!

Well I've only got one day left of work and then I'm off for Beltane until Friday and next Monday is a bank holiday. I LOVE MAY!!!

Ollie and I's flatmate has been to view our new flat and apparently it's gorgeous. Laminate flooring, spacious, gas cooker and walk-in's amazing apparently. So in the next 2 weeks or so we're definitely moving.

Dad was 'round again last night and brought haggis for tea. I hadn't had haggis in a long time so I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was funny though considering yesterday was St George's Day so having haggis for tea last night was extremely ironic, particularly since Ollie's english.

I'm also dieting as of yesterday because I'm at least a stone, possibly a stone and a half overweight. My BMI is 27 so I'm not in a bad way but I could do with losing some weight.

Anyway, enough of my inane ramblings for now, I'm on my lunch-break. I have to go and get something helathy for lunch before I get back to work.

Yup, the lease on this flat is up 3 weeks on Saturday. We're hopefully moving into a bigger flat which won't cost us much more in rent. We just have to make sure we bag the flat before someone else does. As previously said, we really don't want to deal with the owners of the flat directly so the sooner we have a place organised, tha happier we'll be.

Flat inspection on Friday so we're getting the place up to scratch for that. We shouldn't have any problems with it (she says hopefully *LOL*).

Well, concert rehearsals last night were fun. Most of the numbers we're doing I've never done before. Facade from Jeckyll and Hyde is amazing! I'd never heard it before last night but I love it already. We're gonna be doing medleys from Grease and Joseph as well as Mama Mia. The concert is gonna be so good.

I found out last night that I only need to go to the audition on Sunday so I've got "Don't Tell Mama" on repeat on my stereo so I'll hopefully have it learned in a few days. I still want to see if I can rent Cabaret so I can get an idea of how the character is to be played. Ollie thinks I'm going a little overboard but I don't.

Dad was 'round earlier. He's bought me stacking boxes and a clothes trolley so I can actually hang stuff up and keep my clothes neat as opposed to the vaguely organised piles I have just now.

Last night's 24 was mindblowing again. Quite a few WTF moments which I won't go into in case I reveal spoilers for any UK viewers. I might be a caller on Pure 24, the 24 discussion show on BBC 3, next week, but I won't hold my breath.
