Blue Eyes Poor Dimples. P.S. I just really really love this song.
"Behind Blue Eyes"
No one knows what it's like To be the bad man To be the sad man Behind blue eyes No one knows what it's like To be hated To be fated To telling only lies But my dreams they aren't as empty As my conscience seems to be I have hours, only lonely My love is vengeance That's never free No one knows what it's like to feel these feelings Like I do And I blame you No one bites back as hard On their anger None ofmy pain and woe can show through But my dreams they aren'tas empty As my conscience seems to be I have hours, only lonely My love is vengeance That's never free When my fist clenches, crack it open Before I use it and lose my cool When I smile, tell me some bad news Before I laugh and act like a fool If I swallow anything evil Put your finger down my throat If I shiver, please give me a blanket Keep me warm, let me wear your coat No one knows what it's like To be the bad man To be the sad man Behind blue eyes

Pink torpedo I know this is the second time I'll have posted in one day--but I heard this song, and it's just too funny. I can't believe someone actually put this on a CD and they play it on the radio! "Pink torpedo" is just HILARIOUS. Big BottomThe bigger the cushion, the sweeter the pushin' That's what I said The looser the waistband, the deeper the quicksand Or so I have read My baby fits me like a flesh tuxedo I'd like to sink her with my pink torpedo Big bottom, big bottom Talk about bum cakes, my girl's got 'em Big bottom drive me out of my mind How could I leave this behind? I met her on Monday, twas my lucky bun day You know what I mean I love her each weekday, each velvety cheek day You know what I mean My love gun's loaded and she's in my sights Big game is waiting there inside her tights, yeah Big bottom, big bottom Talk about mud flaps, my girl's got 'em Big bottom drive me out of my mind How could I leave this behind? --Spinal Tap Current Mood: chipperCurrent Music: 96.7 The Rocker (Some Creed crap) | | 2:23 am |
No Quarter Really good imagery. P.S. Been feeling really good lately.
No Quarter
Close the door, put out the light. You know they won't be home tonight. The snow falls hard and don't you know? The winds of Thor are blowing cold. They're wearing steel that's bright and true They carry news that must get through.
They choose the path where no-one goes.
They hold no quarter.
Walking side by side with death, The devil mocks their every step The snow drives back the foot that's slow, The dogs of doom are howling more They carry news that must get through, To build a dream for me and you
They choose the path where no-one goes.
They hold no quarter. They ask no quarter. The pain, the pain without quarter. They ask no quarter. The dogs of doom are howling more!

Rush may be for lesbians, but it's not -only- for lesbians! Good message. Chipper tune. Sticks to your brain cells. P.S. I'm not gay--I swear. FreewillThere are those who think that life has nothing left to chance, A host of holy horrors to direct our aimless dance. A planet of playthings, We dance on the strings Of powers we cannot perceive "The stars aren't aligned, Or the gods are malign..." Blame is better to give than receive. Chorus You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice. If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice. You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill; I will choose a path that's clear I will choose FREEWILL. There are those who think that they were dealt a losing hand, The cards were stacked against them; they weren't born in Lotusland. All preordained A prisoner in chains A victim of venomous fate. Kicked in the face, You can't pray for a place In heaven's unearthly estate. Chorus Each of us A cell of awareness Imperfect and incomplete. Genetic blends With uncertain ends On a fortune hunt that's far too fleet. Chorus --Rush Current Mood: sleepyCurrent Music: News | | 1:49 am |
Coldplay I <3 Coldplay. They are officially one of my favorite bands--bumping Staind out of that previously held position.
Speed Of Sound
How long before I get in? Before it starts, before I begin? How long before you decide? Before I know what it feels like? Where To, where do I go? If you never try, then you'll never know. How long do I have to climb, Up on the side of this mountain of mine?
Look up, I look up at night, Planets are moving at the speed of light. Climb up, up in the trees, every chance that you get, is a chance you seize. How long am I gonna stand, with my head stuck under the sand? I'll start before I can stop, before I see things the right way up.
All that noise, and all that sound, All those places I got found. And birds go flying at the speed of sound, to show you how it all began. Birds came flying from the underground, if you could see it then you'd understand?
Ideas that you'll never find, All the inventors could never design. The buildings that you put up, Japan and China all lit up. The sign that I couldn't read, or a light that I couldn't see, some things you have to believe, but others are puzzles, puzzling me.
All that noise, and all that sound, All those places I got found. And birds go flying at the speed of sound, to show you how it all began. Birds came flying from the underground, if you could see it then you'd understand, ah when you see it then you'll understand?
All those signs, I knew what they meant. Some things you can invent. Some get made, and some get sent, Ooh? Birds go flying at the speed of sound, to show you how it all began. Birds came flying from the underground, if you could see it then you'd understand, ah, when you see it then you'll understand?

Duke Lion Clint and Jeremy introduced me to these guys. This song will get -lodged- in your head like no other. Duke Lion Fights the Terror! He's the son of man and God and lion He's the one who keeps the good from dyin' We've seen the rest, he is the best He's the best and his name is Duke Lion His gold sword can shoot out balls of fire His special armor makes him never tire His magical arrows fly like sparrows He fights the good for free, he's not for higher A bolt of lightning from the sky, Duke Lion Where there is battle he will fly, Duke Lion He's never late, he's super great He's here to stay, so let us thank Duke Lion Here he comes to save the day, Duke Lion He will make the villians pay, Duke Lion His golden sword will crush the horde He's here to stay, so let us thank Duke Lion! Foo Fighters I saw this music video, and it's one of the -best- music videos I've ever seen. I'm a very visual person, and the images they (Or their music vid directiors chose for them..) put aside their lyrics really just made the music -so- much more powerful. I wish I could post the music video, but HA. You'll see it or you won't. Just a really great "feel good" song--everyone's felt this way once or twice. Though I'll have to admit, I'm usually one of those "give-in" people he's talking about. Makes me think. Best of YouI’ve got another confession to make I’m your fool Everyone’s got their chains to break Holdin’ you Were you born to resist or be abused? Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you? Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you? Are you gone and onto someone new? I needed somewhere to hang my head Without your noose You gave me something that I didn’t have But had no use I was too weak to give in Too strong to lose My heart is under arrest again But I break loose My head is giving me life or death But I can’t choose I swear I’ll never give in I refuse Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you? Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you? Has someone taken your faith? Its real, the pain you feel You trust, you must Confess Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you? Oh... Oh...Oh...Oh...Oh... Has someone taken your faith? Its real, the pain you feel The life, the love You die to heal The hope that starts The broken hearts You trust, you must Confess Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you? Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you? I’ve got another confession my friend I’m no fool I’m getting tired of starting again Somewhere new Were you born to resist or be abused? I swear I’ll never give in I refuse Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you? Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you? Has someone taken your faith? Its real, the pain you feel You trust, you must Confess Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you? Oh... --Foo Fighters Current Mood: blankCurrent Music: News | | 5:41 pm |
Poem/Song More from Vanity Fair. It's a poem by Tennyson, but in the movie it was sung by Reese Witherspoon (Becky Sharp) on the piano. I wonder--was it actually made into a song back in the victorian period? Or was that something for the movie. If it was actually set to music--I wonder if that was a fad in the victorian period? To put the classic poets to music? The poem doesn't make that much sense, but the tune is stuck in my head. So Sleeps The Crimson PetalNow sleeps the crimson petal, now the white; Nor waves the cypress in the palace walk; Nor winks the gold fin in the porphyry font: The firefly wakens: waken thou with me. Now droops the milkwhite peacock like a ghost, And like a ghost she glimmers on to me. Now lies the Earth all Danae to the stars, And all thy heart lies open unto me. Now slides the silent meteor on, and leaves A shining furrow, as thy thoughts in me. Now folds the lily all her sweetness up, And slips into the bosom of the lake: So fold thyself, my dearest, thou, and slip Into my bosom and be lost in me. --Lord Alfred Tennyson Current Mood: blankCurrent Music: News | | Wednesday, July 13th, 2005 | | 4:46 pm |
Thanks Cizzle! I found this on a friend's page--very pretty, and how I have been feeling lately. Thank you, dear. =)
Transatlanticism
The Atlantic was born today, and I'll tell you how The clouds above opened up and let it out I was standing on the surface of a perforated sphere when the water filled every hole And thousands upon thousands made an ocean making islands where no islands should go (oh no...)
Most people were overjoyed; they took to their boats I thought it less like a lake and more like a moat The rhythm of my footsteps crossing flatlands to your door have been silenced forevermore And the distance is quite simply much to far for me to row; it seems farther than ever before (oh no...)
I need you so much closer...(x10)
So come on; come on...

Reminder to Self I entrust the poem 'To A Stranger,' by Walt Whitman to this diary so I remember it. | | 8:53 pm |
Byron in Vanity Fair The first stanza of this poem was set to music in the movie Vanity Fair with Reese Witherspoon. It was -very- beautiful, with stirring lyrics that I looked up, and--GENTLEMEN, BEHOLD: It's a Byron poem. She walks in beauty, like the night Of cloudless climes and starry skies; And all that's best of dark and bright Meet in her aspect and her eyes: Thus mellowed to that tender light Which heaven to gaudy day denies. One shade the more, one ray the less, Had half impaired the nameless grace Which waves in every raven tress, Or softly lightens o'er her face; Where thoughts serenely sweet express How pure, how dear their dwelling place. And on that cheek, and o'er that brow, So soft, so calm, yet eloquent, The smiles that win, the tints that glow, But tell of days in goodness spent, A mind at peace with all below, A heart whose love is innocent! --Lord Byron Current Mood: sleepy | | Monday, July 4th, 2005 | | 4:22 am |
Gift Poem Friend of mine wrote me this poem as a gift after I got -really- angry the other night. I'll let them remain anonymous--otherwise they might get shy. But I would like to state that I really appreciate the gesture. And also say that I'm pretty envious,--they can crap this stuff out like it's nothing--I have a hard time making rhyming poems. Embers in the Snowi stand outside the waking world A cigarette in my hand. I stand outside the waking world, watching embers land. Barefoot in the deepening snow My only light the embers' glow. Inside the party rages on. A fire warm and bright, Welcome others to the fun, Whilst I stand in the night. i stand outside, a smile broad, Adorns my face although, the only ones who wish me luck, Are falling embers in the snow. --Anonymous Current Mood: angryCurrent Music: Quiet | | Wednesday, April 13th, 2005 | | 5:43 pm |
The Mystic's Dream SITE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION... As if you didn't notice My second favorite Loreena McKennitt song of all time. I want to be pretty, mysterious, and.. hmm.. magical? like the way this song makes me feel. Vocals at the beginning are gorgeous--a mixture of Loreena and gregorian chanters. Not sure if I've posted this before. :/ The Mystic's DreamA clouded dream on an earthly night Hangs upon the crescent moon A voiceless song in an ageless light Sings at the coming dawn Birds in flight are calling there Where the heart moves the stones It's there that my heart is longing All for the love of you A painting hangs on an ivy wall Nestled in the emerald moss The eyes declare a truce of trust Then it draws me far away Where deep in the desert twilight Sand melts in pools of the sky Darkness lays her crimson cloak Your lamps will call me home And so it's there my homage's due Clutched by the still of the night Now I feel you move And every breath is full So it's there my homage's due Clutched by the still of the night Even the distance feels so near All for the love of you A clouded dream on an earthly night Hangs upon the crescent moon A voiceless song in an ageless light Sings at the coming dawn Birds in flight are calling there Where the heart moves the stones It's there that my heart is longing All for the love of you --Loreena McKennitt Current Mood: melancholyCurrent Music: 'The Mystic's Dream'-- Loreena McKennitt | | Monday, April 4th, 2005 | | 10:31 pm |

A Maiden Sara Teasdale-- I discovered her suicide note to her lover, and it was beautiful. So I looked up some more of the poetry. I like a lot of it, although it saddens me that such a gift for words was either a) completely driven by lost love, aka a man; or b) such talent was completely monopolized by her lost love, as if she couldn't think of anything else--like her talent was wasted. Sometimes I wonder if I'll end up like that, and it scared me. So I'm putting all this effort into stopping that from happening. Makes me think of Jeremy--in his own words, he'll never stop falling in love, getting his heart broken and standing back up to find another love. I'm not sure I'm that brave, though. So what will it be?
A Maiden
A Maiden Oh if I were the velvet rose Upon the red rose vine, I'd climb to touch his window And make his casement fine.
And if I were the little bird That twitters on the tree, All day I'd sing my love for him Till he should harken me.
But since I am a maiden I go with downcast eyes, And he will never hear the songs That he has turned to sighs.
And since I am a maiden My love will never know That I could kiss him with a mouth More red than roses blow.

Wicked Game Chris Isaak deserved more hits. Wicked GameThe world was on fire and no one could save me but you. It's strange what desire will make foolish people do. I never dreamed that I'd meet somebody like you. And I never dreamed that I knew somebody like you. No, I don't want to fall in love. (This world is only gonna break your heart) No, I don't want to fall in love. (This world is only gonna break your heart) With you. With you. (This world is only gonna break your heart) What a wicked game to play, to make me feel this way. What a wicked thing to do, to let me dream of you. What a wicked thing to say, you never felt this way. What a wicked thing to do, to make me dream of you and, I want to fall in love. (This world is only gonna break your heart) No, I want to fall in love. (This world is only gonna break your heart) With you. The world was on fire and no one could save me but you. It's strange what desire will make foolish people do. I never dreamed that I'd love somebody like you. And I never dreamed that I'd loose somebody like you no, No, I want to fall in love.
