Please...forget me not.'s Blurty

My Trip
My first entry..aren't you all lucky? Actually I really don't expect anybody to read it. There's a lot more interesting people on Blurty to read about I`m sure.

My fam consists of Me (Linda) Tim (hubby) Timothy 17 (son) Emilyanne 14 (daughter). I guess I cant fail to mention our 2 dogs, and 3 cats, since they are part of the family too. They are all inside animals and all don't get along with each other, kinda like real life kids, lol.
The kids and I went to Florida last week. The hubby stayed home for various reasons. To baby sit the animals,and to remodel the bathroom (we still don't have any water in our only bathroom yet :(....We are going to my sisters for showers- good thing she lives close) and Tim also doesn't get along with my father, well neither do I but I had never been to Florida before and I wanted to see what I was missing, if anything.

SUNDAY- We got in at 11 pm to Fort Myers, FLA. We had to wait a whopping 30 to 45 minutes for our luggage...When we left from Fort Wayne airport they tore apart my luggage saying it tested positive for explosives, needless to say they never found anything. They said certain kinds of med's or lotions will set it off also.. that of which I had both of.
The first plane we took to Cincinnati, Ohio. The plane was tiny :(. It only sat 14 rows.. I don't like the small planes at all. The much larger plane we rode from Cincinnati to Fort Myers was so smooth...It was a Boeing 757. I liked it much better except that our ears bothered us MUCH more on the larger planes.

MONDAY- We went to Fort Myers Beach to see it... I`m sure we were quiet the touristy looking bunch! Picture this...All 5 (us 3 plus my father and his wife) wearing shorts, tennis shoes and carrying cameras! The beach was packed full of people wearing only swim wear (DUH since it is a beach!) I learned a lesson in beach etiquette that day! I wanted to crawl into a sand crabs hole! Needless to say we didn't even stay I don't think 45 minutes even.
Emily was on her period and had an "accident". So we had to hurry and leave. I feel so bad for her..I`m so glad I don't have that worry anymore. She's gotta rough road ahead of her since she seems to be following in my footsteps there.. maybe you inherit things like that? I dunno I never thought to ask about it at the Doctors before now.

TUESDAY- The day began with Barb (dads wife) taking Emily out to buy a bathing suit because it was still way to cold in Indiana to search for a good swim suit. I about had a cow when they came home and I asked Emily how much Barb spent on it and Emily said she didn't look at the price at all and then the receipt fell out.....I never ever saw a bathing suit for $100.00 before, well until now.
We, (dad, me and my kids) went to tour the Thomas Edison, Henry Ford Winter Home. I never knew a tree called a banyan tree would be so dang interesting to me. I didn't realize how many pictures I took of it, I must've been in a trance or something, lol. My husband thought there were a ton of these trees for all the pictures I took. There's only one, lmao. Now the tour I found really interesting...I enjoyed it and think my son did but as for Emily....she just wanted "to go and sit in the car". I wish I knew where I went wrong with her...She can be and is so continually rude. I think sometimes all she thinks about is herself and the world revolves all around her..her,her,her. She has been my parents payback for all my wrong doings with them I`m sure. Justin, Barbs Grandson flew in from Fenton, Michigan tonight to stay 2 weeks. He's a sweet kid. IM glad we got to meet him. I feel bad when we leave he's gonna be so bored. Tim and him were inseparable the whole time.
Emily stated she wanted to go home and that she should've went to Portland, Indiana to stay with my hubby's sister for this week. She's bored and sad that she doesn't have anyone to pal around with like the boys do.

WEDNESDAY- Timothy's 17th Birthday! Happy Birthday my bud! Now I feel freaking old thank you! lol.
We did go to the Everglades which was a blast! Speedy Johnson's, and they are definitely speedy! Now who would of thunk some swamp land would be interesting! It was....Our guide would stop every now and then and talk to us and tell us about different things. It was nice and I really liked our guide. Those airboats go really fast and are really loud. We did get to see a gator, but we didn't get to see a manatee :(.
We also saw wild pigs and some odd looking fish swimming around.

THURSDAY- Didn't do much this day. The boys went to the driving range. I stayed at home and read my book I've had for many years now. I'm happy to say I`m almost finished with it now too. Its called The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. Its about a little girl murdered by a neighbor and she's telling her own story, Its very good.

FRIDAY- The boys went to play 18 holes of golf, they came back burned.
We gals went to a place called the flea market. My version of flea market and the version of flea market I went to are 2 totally different things. My flea market is more garage sale like stuff. There's consists of brand new stuff. I like there version better. They really had some neat stuff. Barb bought Emily a pair of shoes. I never heard of them but I tried on a pair too while she was looking and my they were comfy. But I couldn't afford the $50.00 price tag- especially when I never heard of the brand before. She got a nice pair. Barb also bought her another (larger) suitcase, to fit the many clothes that barb has given her in clearing out her own closet. She's gotten a lot of really nice clothes from her.
Afterwards we went to Bob Evans for lunch, which was good.

SATURDAY- We went first to Cheeburger Cheeburger, yes its a cheeseburger place for those that never heard of it before. Timothy ate a 20 oz. cheeseburger so he got his picture taken to hang on their wall and Barb bought him a T- shirt for eating that huge thing up.
After lunch we went to Sanibel Island beach... That was the best thing we did there. I loved it. All the kids and I walked along the beach picking up sea shells. It was so nice, pretty and very relaxing. Unfortunately we had to leave after only about 1 1/2 hours. My Dad was finished with the beach thing :( . He`ll never change. He's gotta really really REALLY bad attitude and likes to be boss of everything and everyone. It got tons worse after my Mother died in 1999. That's one of the many MANY reasons why he and I don't get along.

SUNDAY- We went to their church. Its held in the Regal Cinemas.. It was a good sermon. Just odd seeing people lined up for a movie and smelling the popcorn cooking on our way out. It also was kind of odd to take a doughnut and drink with you while you listened to the sermon. I passed on this. It didn't feel right to me.
After church we went to a restaurant called Sweet Tomatoes. Its an all you can eat salad buffet. They had salads and soups and pastas and breads. It was a vegetarians heaven, that of which I`m not a vegetarian, So I say it was okay. I guess they only have 2 in the state of Florida.

MONDAY- Going Home!!! Got some sun early, ended up getting burnt :( Read more in my book, I'm still not finished as of yet :(
We left for the airport at 5:30pm. We arrived home at 11pm. I was so happy to see Tim! I missed him so much... The more towards the end of our week the more I would phone him. I just wanted to come home...and have my stuff and my bed, my pillows and be able to go somewhere on my own!

That was my Florida trip. I will post more at a later time..
