Nature Interrupted
Nature closes its eyes for a nap,
falls asleep for a few months;
maybe it’ll wake again,
maybe not.
I love the scent of cold,
the breathtaking scenery,
lightening the burden of summer,
that snow brings...
Blue-white icicles grace the shed,
the ugly green shed with peeling paint,
but with the layer of frozen glitter
it could almost pass for beautiful.
The secret of winter is
it covers what we forget,
to melt and let us remember again,
the grass and branches appreciated. |
