Through the fields of Ireland, amongst the rolling hills, lay a dark forest the townspeople of Dublin dare not enter. The very forest, given the name of the Black Forest for how dark and dreary it looked compared to the beautiful hills outside Dublin, was home to evil wizards, trolls, and other indescribable nocturnal animals. While plans of mischeif were being thought out in the Black Forest, the townspeople of Dublin were getting ready for a big feast. The Queen, Angelina, had just given birth to a baby boy, Prince Reginal, her second child. The royal family was preparing for the event as Princess Athena snuck out to the garden to frolick with the fairies she had grown so fond of in her fifteen years of life. "I must warn you of something terrible that will occur soon," whispered Loretta, Athena's most faithful fairy friend. Scared of what Loretta might have said, Athena ran off to her enormous bedroom where she sat for hours crying until the feast, for fear of what was to come. Back in the forest, tucked away in a cave lit by candlefire, a wizard, Kataklysm, and a witch, Nikole, pulled out old books from their library. Sitting on the floor, their handicapped daughter, Kara, sneezed so hard that it shook the cave. She seemed to be allergic to the dust mites. "What ever are we to do with her my love?" Kataklysm said, looking disgusted with his one and only daughter. "I have just the thing. Now dear you must listen to me closely and follow all my instuctions, precisly! There will be no messing this up," cackled Nikole to her husband, "we have just a short amount of time until the full moon." Clapping and cheering were the people of Dublin. The royal family and townspeople watched joyously as entertainers such as jugglers and fire eaters came to share talent and show respect to Prince Reginal. In the kitchen were bakers and butchers bringing the chefs ingrediants for the grand feast. Found throughout the castle and along the back yard of the castle were maids scurying about making the atmosphere just right. Princess Athena was holding her new sibling when Loretta flew onto the table in front of her. Shouting to Athena, Loretta pulled her hair to make her listen. The baby started to cry, therefore Loretta spoke quick and blunt. "Princess, you know I would never want anything to hurt you nor your family. Please listen you are the only one who can stop this and the only one who can hear my words!" Athena wanted everso to hear what was going to become of the day so she excused herself to the bathroom where she met Loretta in a panic. "Loretta, not here, not now. Nothing will happen to us. Everything is going to be fine. Please leave, this day is important to my family. I will meet with you later, after the feast." She was too ignorant to understand the circumstances that were about. For this Loretta forgave her and continued to try and help. "Disappear, disappear, from that table of royalty you will flee, by the full moon you will come to me!" chanted Kataklysm standing over a spell book. He knew that it was wrong but Nikole was behind this, she just wasn't strong enough to cast the spells she had wished to do. He loved her. Out of the Queens arms, the prince just disappeared. The townspeople fell silent as Angelina's screams filled the entire castle. Athena jolted back to her mother and father. She knew this was what Loretta had tried to warn her off. Pain filled her heart as she ran to the garden to find her friends. "Loretta! Kandy! Capris! Anyone!" Athena shouted as she ran amongst the dandilions and daffodils. A swarm of panicing fairies fluttered around her head. They sat and devised a plan. They were to go into the Black Forest. Capris sent for two unicorns, Marcus and Abigail. They were the quickest he knew. They set out as soon as the unicorns came. Athena, Loretta, Capris, Marcus, and Abigail were searching for baby Reginal and they wouldn't sleep until they found him. Never did they imagine the problems they were to come across. Worrying about the baby they had forgoten all about trolls and grasping trees. Daylight made things simpler, but once the sun started to set, unimaginable horrors were brought upon them. Not only did they have no water, no food, and no destination they weren't prepared for quick sand and entangling weeds on the floor. Attacked by a tree, the unicorn Marcus decided it was time to fly overhead instead of march on by foot. They took heed to the sky and were better off. Smoke signals made Loretta swoop down, fearless, only to find a cave making noises that sounded like gibberish mixed with baby cries. They were speaking of killing the prince for his soul so their daughter had not to be handicapped anymore. Floating back to the clouds she told the others of what she found. They quickly made it to the entrance of the cave. The fairies somehow got the stone out from in front of the cave. Shaking nervously they entered. Capris and Loretta swarmed about knocking over candles and books causing a distraction. Abigail ran in and rescued the prince. Carrying the prince and princess upon her back she returned them home. The fairies had managed to sprinkle fairy dust into Kataklysm and Nikole's eyes. Blinded they fell onto Marcus' back. He strode off into the night with the evil wizard and witch as the fairies followed. Once returned to the castle, the king and queen granted all good magical creatures access to any where in Ireland. Kataklysm and Nikole however were hung for their evil doings. No one knows what happened to their daughter Kara. Whether she survived or not, none came towards the royal families ever again. |
