There is way too much new's this week, and the more new's we've got, the more work we've got to do, so in fact we may cut the new's short, because we've got too much work to finish...if that makes sense....however for the fact that we don't want people to miss out on any of this new's well keep it long.
Confused ?? We'll you should be.
So let's get down to it...
1. We have as you are aware changed hosting services...the site currently resides in sunny Florida. We're not to sure about this set down, but for the purposes of doing what we originally set out to do....get Lipcrack Music out to the masses...it's going to do for our next release. The difficulty I've faced, is that I would like the Lipcrack Site to have an Auction Facility...end of story...and there's a number of hosting services, including this one...that offer it as one of the additional services...which is again why we choose this service and the last one. But the thing that continually messes the whole thing up, is that although they offer the service, they refuse to support it. Now I've had a look at the programming of the site, I've even written to the organization which provides the software operating system, and let them know of a couple of small programming difficulties....and they haven't written back. So that's it...for the time being I've blown the whole auction site off the main entrance page, and it's sitting in a password protected bin at
http://www.lipcrack.com/auction . I've had a look at a couple of other companies that offer auction site operating systems, and we're currently testing a few...but as it stands for now...there will be no direct link for the auction site, from the Lipcrack site until we have one that we know does everything that it's supposed to do, and won't be interfered with by hosting company staff, with back end operating access.
I was actually becoming a little obsessed with it, to the point that it was giving me headaches and getting me totally frustrated because it didn't work, it was also consuming a lot of time...and by that I mean day's wasted trying to get it operating. And that's when I realized ....this thing is delaying the release of new Lipcrack Material...and that's why for now, it's on hold, because I have wasted way too much time on this....and because of it Lipcrack releases have also been delayed...and I'm not prepared to let that go on any longer...so Yes ...New 's You Have It...the following week is going to be spent, along with some other things we have in store......getting a new Lipcrack track on line for our listeners. It won't be heavily graphic because of this time delay factor, but the other new's, well we have invested in some new infrastructure (secret for now ) , so hopefully those that are to follow, will be a little more visually exotic..
So that's it really, we'll stick with this hosting service until that release is complete, and following that , we have the choice to utilize another company that seem willing to host our site, and also help , for a small charge with scripting difficulties, which will ease quite a bit of tension and strain from this end, and will help get thing's back on track.
Our new infrastructure...still a surprise, but you should know within a couple of week's what it is, will also assist in dividing up task's require to make Lipcrack the site and service that it's always' meant to be...hush hush...
