To say I am completely unprepared for tomorrow is an understatement. I just got back from CVS. A bottle of SPF 50 sunblock, a bottle of SPF 10 tanning oil, a bottle of SPF 20 sunblock, a bottle of Off Bug Spray, a bottle of after sun cooling aloe gel, and a bottle of Neutrogena face moisturizer. So great - my skin will be fantastic. But it's like I have to keep reminding myself that this isn't a Costa Rica vacation, it's a Costa Rica study abroad and that means it will include learning. Lots and lots of learning because I'm cramming a semesters worth of learning into 12 days.
I haven't packed. My books are buried somewhere deep in my car. and up until 2 hours ago I was drunk. I spent the past three days in Ocean City and today laying by the pool with Chrissy and Kathleen drinking Coronas. There is SO much I need to bring with me, and at the same time I am trying to bring as little as possible because I'm going to be lugging some of this shit through the freaking rainforest. Hell, if it wasn't for jury duty I wouldn't even know what I'd be doing. For instance, I just found out we're going to one of the only sloth conservation facilities in the world. They take in injured sloths that can't be put back into the wild.
There are so many fun things I'm going to be doing: white water rafting, bird-watching, going deep into the jungle and learning hands-on, salsa dancing, laying out on the beach of Costa Rica, snorkeling, trying new foods. It's going to be incredibleee but I have to remember that this is for a class as well and I need to put work into it.
I think I'm going to start packing. I thought the flight was a lot shorter than it was. Stupid me was convinced there is no time change, but there is. Hopefully I can get all my things together in time to still have fun tonight!
