Yo [05 Sep 2003|07:06pm] [ mood | dorky ] [ music | Switchfoot! ] Wow. I havent updated in a while! Summer was freakin awesome, man. I had a blast. Got to hang out with Jeff a WHOLE LOT! ^_^ Got to go to Nova Scotia, the beach for two weeks and met some really awesome guys, went to Gettysburg for yearbook camp (i know it sounds dorky!) for photography with Nikki, and we had a blast, and met some awesome guys. (Pat and Matt, you guys rock the hizzy, fo shizzy) We had some awesome times there, like sneaking off campus late at night, walking by out teacher at the resteraunt and Matt going right up to the window 'HEY GUYS, LOOK ITS HANK!!! HI HANK!!!' Luckily, Hank was awesome, and didn't care, lol. And then sneaking up to the scary tower place... oh man. Good times. And then I got to go to Impact VA, and that rocked. Amber is awesome, and I miss her! We got to fix crazy on some houses, man. And my lady that we fixed her house, was super sweet. Umm... Yeah, then August was pretty much spent with Jeff, and I loved it ^_^. Going to King's Dominion much. Got to go on Extreme Sky flyer twice with Jeff, once with his dad, that was sweet, he was so scared it was hilarious. And then I got to go stay at my sister's apartment in Lynchburg for a week, and on my last night there, Matt, Keith, Rory, Jason, and Megan all came down, and we went to a Switchfoot concert and it was crazy titeness. We were right up front, and it was crazy. The lead singer crowd surfed right over us, and Megan and I got to grab his butt, lol. Then I stole the lead singer's water bottle and got the whole band to sign it for me. Those guys were so sweet. Then after the concert, we hit the town, but ... only walmart was open, lol. So we all went back home, and spent the night at my sister's apartment, which we stayed up til like 7... oh man, I got no sleep. Crazy fun, except that I had likea billion random bruises everywhere.. like from walking into the table at night, THANKS GUYS FOR NOT TELLING ME IT WAS THERE!! YEEEARGH. Anyways.. school's started now, and I love all my classes. Even though Jeff isn't in any of my classes, or my lunch, I still get to see him often.. and those short moments that I get to see him are the best in my school day. ^_^ My berfday is coming up! Im hopin for a new sweet camera.. but who knows. Umm.. That's about all thats going on with me. Football game is about now, so I am off. To0o0o0o0dle loo. post comment

Being able to go around to different places in Maine and Nova Scotia to spread the gospel, it was amazing. We would do our performance and then talk to the people we performed to afterwards. Hearing all of them, what they had to say, and what they thought, and if they knew Christ, it was a truely unforgettable experience. Also, I got to get to know so many people in my youth group much better than I did before. Ive been blessed to meet and be friends with such awesome people. I love all of you. God really spoke to me so much on that tour, really taught me how to humble myself, and gave me strength I didnt know was there. My boyfriend is another huge blessing, we were both finally able to come right with eachother, and really make some awesome decisions. I am really blessed... God is great. Somethings I will never forget. - 'abouuuuut' 'a?' - YAAAAAAARGH! - *mr renwick sticks his head out of the window* 'Lauren, Nikki... are you guys yelling at Wilke and Jeff out the window?? [31 May 2003|06:22pm] [ mood | mellow ] [ music | Sleeping Awake - P.O.D. ] Yesterday was fun. Went over to Ashley's house, and her, Jeff, Carreen, and Jeremy hung out. It was fun stuff. I love Ashley to death, she's a sweetheart. Jeff, Carreen, and I sat up for a while and just talked. It was nice. I am Jeff's 34th girlfriend. He is my 3rd boyfriend. That just isnt right, haha. This summer is going to be fun stuff. Teen praise tour leaves 20th of June, and we'll be in Nova Scotia for 10 days, then Im home for a couple days, July 4th at Mt Ararat. ! Then I leave for Gulf Shores Alabama for two weeks. I dont want to go for that long, honestly, but my cool cousin Hannah is coming, so we'll have fun. Hopefully I'll tan much. Then a day after I get back, I leave for yearbook camp for 5 days, with Nikki. That'll be fun. Then a day after I get back from that, Im off to Impact Virginia, rebuilding peoples' houses who cant afford it, for free. I cant wait. Then after I get back from that, Im going to be practicing much for TENNIS! haha, Yes, Nikki and I are trying out for the Tennis team. Tim and Rory are going to train us, hahaha. Nikki and I will be together lots this summer, Teen praise tour, yearbook camp, and tennis. Fun stuff. AAAAH, I cant wait. My boyfriend will be 17 on Wednesday :) Tee hee. Umm.......... HAPPY BIRTHDAY RORY! Hm. I love every person there..... Tim - Awesome friend since 2nd grade? He's a great guy, and Ill always be there for him. Rory - So glad I met him this year, hes so great, SO smart, seriously one of the smartest people I have ever met in my life. Gives me strength. Brittany - Sweet girl, we got to talk on Sunday at youth council, and got to know her better, shes an awesome girl. Jason - Shoo, my bro in law. I love that kid, even though I beat the crap outa him, hes a great kid. He's really gonna go far, and he listens to me whine. lol. Kudos to Jason! Kelly - Im glad her and I have gotten to be friends, Ive always seen her at church for forever long, but never really knew her. Im glad I do now. :) Kristie - kristie is a sweetheart, she always makes me laugh, and is just.. a sweet person. I love her to death. Lynsey - That girl has got some spunk. Shes a very intelligent girl, with a lot of will power, and one heck of a voice. Love her to death. Laura - Didnt know her until a couple weeks ago, shes a cool kid. Just a sweetheart, and very funny. Im glad I got to meet her. Wilke - Where would I be without my wilke? Wilke and I have been through a lot, and IM glad he's always been there for me, and Ill always be open for him when he needs me. I love wilke to death. Nikki - Nikki's awesome. Wow, her and I have gotten close this year, always get to talk at teen praise, and our 7th period class, shes a really cool girl, Im glad weve become such good friends. Short Bible lesson.. from your missionary to the internet, Matt Slick [22 May 2003|08:51pm] [ mood | content ] [ music | My Immortal ~ Evanescence ] 'SHORT BIBLE LESSON - COMMUNICATIO IDIOMATUM Okay, so what the heck is the communicatio idiomatum and why am I writing about it? The "uppity" sounding phrase is Latin for "communication of properties" and it is a very interesting and important doctrine. Let me explain. Jesus has two natures: divine and human (John 1:1,14; Phil. 2:5-8; Col. 2:9). He is at the same time one person with two natures. We call this the hypostatic union; that is, that in the one person of Jesus are two natures. This is important because it means that Jesus is the God-man, the One capable of dying for our sins and offering a sacrifice sufficient to the Father. The Communicatio Idiomatum (CI, for short), is important because it states that the attributes of both the divine and the human natures are each attributed/ascribed to the single person of Jesus. Here is an example. In John 17:5, Jesus said, "And now, glorify Thou Me together with Thyself, Father, with the glory which I had with Thee before the world was." Now, Jesus the man did not exist until He was born on earth. So how is it that Jesus can then lay claim to the glory that He had "before He even existed as a man"? The answer is simple. The divine nature in Jesus has certain attributes such as omnipresence, omnipotence, eternality, etc. These attributes are ascribed to Jesus as the person. Therefore, Jesus could legitimately lay claim to the divine quality of eternal glory in relation to the Father. This whole thing becomes very important when we look at the cross. When we sin, we offend an infinitely holy God. Therefore, our sin takes on a quality of an infinite offense. As finite sinners, we are not able do anything to please an infinitely holy God. Therefore, we need Jesus, who is God in flesh, to offer an infinitely valuable sacrifice on our behalf. The only way he can be infinitely valuable, is if he is divine in nature. Got that? However, when Jesus died on the cross, His divine nature did not die, only Jesus' human nature died. How then is Jesus' sacrifice infinitely sufficient to cleanse us if the divine nature did not die? Enter, the communicatio idiomatum. Since Jesus is one person with two natures (hypostatic union) and since the attributes of the two natures are ascribed to the one person, when Jesus died on the cross, His sacrifice was of infinite value because the qualities of divinity were ascribed to the one person of Jesus. Therefore, Jesus' sacrifice was infinite in value and capable of saving us from our sins even though it was only the human side of Christ that died. This is why theology is so important. It unravels the hidden treasures of God's word and discloses to us the wisdom and congruity of His wondrous truth. Furthermore, it brings glory to God through Christ as well as edifying the body of believers. We need to know and understand God's word in all its intricacies so that we might be better able to know Him, speak His truth, and rest in His Son.' ~Matt Slick Im in awe. post comment

Tonight was perfect. [11 May 2003|11:16pm] [ mood | indescribable ] [ music | the Scientist ~ Coldplay ] Wow, I had an amazing day. After church, I went home, and Jeff his dad and his little sister and I all went out to kings dominion. It was SOOOO much fun. Oh my gosh, I had a blast. There were like no lines, so we got to ride a whole crap load, and we were only there for like 3 or 4 hours. It was great. Went on white water rafting liek last, and I have a curse, to where Im always the only one who gets soaked. Well, me and whoeever sits next to me. Jeff wasnt too happy about that, lol. But it was fun.. After, we all went out to the car and had sandwiches, and just chilled.. Then we slept on the way home, so nice. Then I chilled at their house for a while, Jeff's dad found all these home videos from like forever ago, and him jason jeff jennifer and I all sat and watched em, they were hilarious. Holy crap. Then Jeff and I went out and rented Primal Fear, an old favorite of mine.. and him his dad and I all watched it. It was so fun. Jeff's dad is awesome. Wow.. Yeah, I had an awesome night. Wow [10 May 2003|11:35pm] Havent updated this buddy in a while... Let's see. Last weekend was wonderful... I spent it with my boyfriend. I went over to his house on Saturday night, and hung out with him and his mom, and put his hair in a bunch of little braids... SO much fun, I had a blast. Then, the next morning, saw him at church, and had Mrs. Cizdziel for my sunday school teacher that day. She embarrassed me SO bad!! haha, I was beat red... but ah well, it was funny. Then she invited me to stay after with them for a picnic thingy behind noah's... much fun. I love her to death. Then Jeff got to come home with me for the afternoon, and we just chilled. I love being with him more than anything. The week was fun.. nothing really happened... heh. Then friday, I missed Nikki & Francine's party... I wanted to see Nikki's face when she opened Wilke's present.. ah well. I hope they had a good time :) My sister finally graduated, and thats why I was gone.. At good ole Liberty University. she graduated.. and yeah.. okay, ima go! post comment

A lot of emotions in me have been building up lately... like friends that I thought hated me, and other people that I let walk all over me.. which builds up into a lot of pain, rather have pain than be mean to anyone though.. but it just sucks when it happens. My friends were sweet to me.. and so was Jeff. He just held me, kissed my forehead, made me feel like everything was fine. Which it was of course, Im just retarded. Hm. I scared a bunch of boys with the huge bruise on my thigh.. the screamed and were scared. I laughed much. hm. I read Lynsey's daily devotion, and this verse really stuck out to me.. I enjoy it. 1 Peter 1:6-8 says, So be truly glad! There is wonderful joy ahead, even though the going is rough for a while down here. These trials are only to test your faith, to see whether or not it is strong and pure. It is being tested as fire tests gold and purifies it- and your faith is far more precious to to God than mere gold; so if your faith remains strong after being tried in the test tube of fiery trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day of his return. You love him even though you have never seen him; though not seeing him, you trust him; and even now you are happy with the inexpressible joy that comes from heaven itself. 4 comments|post comment

Im home! [28 Apr 2003|07:30pm] [ mood | rejected ] [ music | Holly Hox Forget Me Nots ~ Saves the Day ] Wow... California.. what can I say. Its absolutely beautiful there, I saw sooo many things. It really was an awesone experience. Allie and I had a blast. A lot better than I thought it would be. We met a bunch of great people, saw mountains and the ocean, and the golden gate bridge, San Francisco, seals, college boys, Westmont, Big Sur, Muir Woods (HUGE redwoods, my goodness), STOCKDON!!, family that I didnt know existed, 16 of the best roller coasters in the world, beautiful beachs of CA, San Diego, Long Beach, crazy art galleries, *whales* (and out on their own, not in some captivity), Northern Ca boys w/ southern accents (howd that happen?), little mexican boys that hit on Allison, cute mexican shops, Coronado Bay, and a lot more.. it was fun stuff. Coming back from my trip, I have loads of memories, stuff that I wont forget for the rest of my life, pictures, souvenirs, a new love for CA & TRAVIS!!! (our rental car that we fell in love with!!, lol) AND a HUGE bruise on my thigh! OUchies... Well, I had a great time.. AAAh... It sucked though, being apart from JEff for 9 days!! I saw him for the first time this morning, and I was sooo happy... Ive never had that feeling in my life when I hugged him again for the first time.. wow... yeah, and one night, Allison and I stayed up talking, and something was brought up.. and ... man, I cried myself to sleep that night.. then I couldnt stop thinking about it the rest of our trip. Allie told me to forget about it, but .. aah, it was too hard. I hate when people hate me! ARgh... I dunno.. I still cant get it out of my head, but.. Im trying.
