    Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers
I think hearing Kevin Harron complaining to a bunch of Scottish people about his weight problem has to be one of the funniest things I have ever witnessed.

Hey what's up. So I am stuck at home this weekend with my brother. So far I've had to clean up and I just woke up about 45 minutes ago. Stressful. Tara's gone up to her friend's cottage in Bobcaygeon and Mom and Dad are at the trailer.

Some people want to buy our trailer. I don't want them to buy it because I wanted at least a couple more months up there. But hey the sooner we sell the trailer the sooner we can move. Mom is doubting moving to Lindsay or Peterburough right now. She want's to live closer to Oshawa. So she is now looking at semi-detached houses on the lake front in Oshawa. I kind of want to get as far away from cities as I can but hey it's really what my Mom wants. I'm almost 22 now, I won't be living here in 10 years.

I got my OSAP the other day. Well I got the amount I will be recieving in September. I'm getting $6600 plus a $3000 Millenium Bursary. It's not too bad. But it is still not enough to support the apartment and school so I have to keep saving up money at the binder factory.

Sarah, Kevin, and I went to the carnival in Ajax last night. Aside froim being the oldest kids there (Me - 21, Kev - 21, Sarah - 23) We had a good time. I won Sarah an Alien baseball bat at the pitching game. I threw 63 MPH..I was the relief pitcher...they pulled me :(...We went on the bumper cars. I fidn the bumper cars less fun now because I know how to drive. They are too easy to control now. We went on the gravitron as well...Kev tried to roll on me, but I rolled away. We then headed to a giant obstacle course ride called "Raiders of the Lost Ark"..Up ladders, punching bags, and wobby-bridges we went. I know exactly how Indy felt when he was on his adventures..fuck. A little kid start chasing us..he represented the rock. On our way there and back Sarah showed us the car she will most likely be buying, it was awesome.

Sarah then kicked the shit out of everyone in a water gun race thingy and won a polar bear - lucky girl. Sarah had to head back home to work on a resume so we dropped her off and waved goodnight. Kev and I then made our way up to The Raven and the Firkin..No one was there so we just ordered a beer and talked to some old scottish 40 - somethings. We then walked up to Harwood Blues after we heard everyone was up there. Will, Aleem, Stefan, Mike, and Cam were all there already half drunk. It was a good time, I had lots of fun.

After that my head instantly blew up and the pieces wrote this whole journal entry as the blood and pieces of skull hit the keyboard.

    Waddup y'all?

Feeling a lot better lately. I have regained my energy being done work and all.

It's nice to be bored for once and sit around and do nothing at all!

Sarah and I are going strong as well, It's unbelieveable how happy this girl makes me, almost seems too good to be true if you ask me. I can relate to her on many levels and I can actually talk to her about anything. She's smart, funny, and honest. I couldn't ask for more from her, she's great. Sucks with school coming up, but I'm not gonna give up on it and I hope she has the patience for me. We went and saw Alien vs. Predetor yesterday. I was cheering for Alien, she for Predetor. Personally, I think Alien is cooler and looks creepier, but not having seeing any of The Predator movies, I had no idea what Predator was like. After seeing it, I changed my mind, Predator is fucking awesome.

Tomorrow, my Grandma turns 70, so me, Shane, and dad are taking her out for dinner, should be fun. As for my birthday, I appreciate all the "Happy Birthday" wishes from you people! Those who came out for Steve's party and the Firkin I also appreciate. My birthday was pretty good though, hit the big 21 and I woke up with a really bad cold thanks to this strange weather as of late.

I will keep you all up to date with my soon to be busy life, as for now I relax.

    fun
I remember when the nights would go by too quick you know.

These days as friends and family go their own way you start to feel a sense of lonliness. I find in my dwelling state that I always want to re-created those days when I was seventeen and didn't give a fuck about anything, had no responsibility, could wear whatever the fuck I wanted to (even dye my hair blue :) ). Now as I approach 21, I have to accept adulthood and continue to look ahead. No more looking for entertainment every single night, no more sitting around doing nothing. Work, school, and change is all ahead and it's gonna hit me intensely.

But hey, sorry to dampen the mood Mr. Hendrickson.

Mark Stephens and I went to the driving range today. Can't say I'm very good at golf..AT ALL..but I think bashing a small white ball a few hundred yards can really make you feel a lot better. Mark hasn't been doing very well lately mentally. He has extreme anxiety and is just utterly depressed..which is weird because Mark is one of the most upbeat and caring and enthusiastic individuals I know. I hate to see him like this, but he had some fun today. We both did.

Thursday, will mark the halfway point for Drama-Rama (the Drama Course Kevin and I teach at The Youth Center). Great bunch of kids I tell you. So far we have had a large number of kids show up to each week eager and excited to learn about the basics. In my five year history teaching at this place, I have never met a greater bunch of kids who are so interested in drama. The ability to work with my best friend Kevin Dowse is something I always look forward to. It's hard work but our chemistry as teammates is so strong that it makes it so easy to teach this. In the past few years in the program, I've been working with 3 or 4 other supervisors and strangely it is a lot harder and non-impactful. With too many supervisors, the kids feel intimidated and can't get to know us more on a personal level. I think two is just great.

Trailer on friday, can't say I'm looking forward to it too much. I seem to be enjoying home a wee bit more. The trailer is okay don't get me wrong. But I had such high expectations for it this year and it's been a huge disapointment. People said they'd come up and hang out all night but they never come up or really talk anymore. No one is really my age there. Only reason why I go up is to hang with my Mom, she enjoys my company as hers I enjoy as well.

Bitter I am again with some people though. Too many times I let them back in my life and they seem like they are going to be close with me again and then they go away and become ignorant to me and my friends, quite a pity if you ask me. I know I havn't been around much with some people, but I at least try and take some time to let them know they are still an important part of my life.

So almost done work, I wonder what I am going to do with those 31 days off. I know I have to pack a hell of a lot, sleep a lot, and catch up with some people. I'd also like to hang out with Sarah for once, but it seems like we can't find an opportunity to hang out. For we are both shy and so far are unable to break the ice, I hope it does break soon, I'd hate for her to slip away.

Anyway I am going to hang out with my bed.

How'd this world get so fucking fun?
Hey I know it's been a while. I have lacked the motivation to update, and clearly I've been too lazy to log on to blurty.com, type in my username and password, and proceed. In the near future, I'm talking two weeks, I will be able to update almost daily. Know why? Lemme tell you..

Friday was my last officail scheduled shift at the Canadian Bookcraft Studio. For the next two weeks I am on call because the rest of the crew are on holidays. My boss, who is an obsessed, angry, german work-a-holic, is going to work just some of the days. When he does work he is going to call me.

I kind of feel bad in a way. I took advantage of his old age I did. Ralph is rounding 70 and a little behind when it comes to when students start school and end it. I lied and told him that all colleges start August 11th and that was the reason why i had to leave August 6th. In actuality, I start September 7th. So it'll be a good month off without work and school, just to catch up on some sleep and prepare myself for school and living in Missusauga.

I met a very interesting person last week named Sarah. When it comes to musical taste we're almost exact it's kind of scary in a way. I'm getting to know her a bit and it's going good so far, but we still know very little about eachother. Hopefully in the next few weeks before I leave that'll change.

Home life is still pretty much the same. Dad's still drinking his life away and causing us more money woes. Good for Mom though, I've convinced her to move out in September to the trailer for a couple months just to get away. Hopefully in those two months she'll find a place to settle down in.

My dad's reaction when my Mom informed him of this:

"...Well you're taking the dog I don't want him" - Glen Mills 2004

Like me, my sister is also heading off to school. She's going to Sir Sanford Flemming for Early Childhood Education (ECE). She will also live close to the school and away from home. I am extremely proud of her and I'm going to constantly worry about her. Even though she's 19, she still feels like my kid sister. I think overall this will be good for the family. Mom gets time away from Dad, Tara can start her education and face the challenges adulthood throws at her, and I can step out of that father role that I've been doing for the last two years and relax my mind and get started on my career. Please keep your fingers crossed. Much appreciated.

So the 21st birthday is coming up soon! August 9th is the day. My original plans were to go check out Modest Mouse in Toronto with Kevin, Will, and a few close friends. But when Will went to get us tickets there were none left for me and him. SOLD OUT...fuck. The second plan was to check out "Evil Dead The Musical" up in Toronto, but unfortunatley for me and Cayla, we were too late, the last show was in late June. So now the third plan is to check out the Curiosa (finally spelled it correctly Sarah!) Festival. Few good bands there including Muse, Interpol, and The Cure..and many more. So that is a possibility.

But most of all I am looking forward to August 6th, Steve-a-palooza/B-Day Party. I can't wait to get together with close friends and just have a great time at this annual event. Anyone close to me, or close to Steve is invited just make sure to ask me or Steve.

If you are interested, August 1st Kevin Dowse and his kick ass sketch comedy group called "Frenzy" will be playing in Toronto. Come on come all, if you need more information please contact me or Kevin.

    Damn the man it's hot.

With no air conditioning I am slowly wasting away here in my room. All you A.C. Nazis can kiss my white ass.

I think I have my sleep disorder back which kind of sucks. I am averaging 4 hours of sleep a night. I can't seem to get to sleep until about 2 am. Possibly because of my job and how I dread going in there in the mornings now. The tension is thick, you can cut it with a knife (and I'm not talking about the tension that makes you want to have sex with another idividual...that's a whole different story) My official last day of work is either July 23rd or August 6th, either one isn't far away at all.

So I graduated last Friday! It was held at the Oshawa Civic Center. I got my one year certificate for Pre-Media at Durham College. I graduated with honours with a 4.20 cumulative GPA and made 2 honour rolls somehow (Presidents & College Honour Roll). It was good to see the class again and teachers. So yes I guess I kind of surprised myself since my marks were averaging 60 in high school. The next 3 years at Sheridan will be the challenge and a half I tell you that buddy-boy. It will show if I have talent or not. Let's hope I do.

    Guess What.

I went camping last week with Steve and his friends (Julie, Beth, Adam, Scott, Troy, Nicole, Andrew, Heather, Darrin, and Christina). On our way up Steve and I got lost. Our plan was to take the 35/115 and take the 35 up north, cut west through a few highways and hit Balsom Lake (the campground). But since we were talking and complete idiots, we missed the cut-off for the 35 and continued to head east. We found ourselves in Peterburough with no sense of direction. After two stops for directions we finally made it back on track. 3/4's of the way up the car stalled and wouldn't start in the middle of Hick Country. Luckily I had some oil in teh car, after we filled it up we were bck on the road. But I swear to God I thought we were going to be the victims in a really cheezy horror movie.

Around 6pm, we made it to the campsite to find everyone sitting around. My first impression of Troy was humourous. Pissed drunk. Yet he managed to help me figure out what was wrong with computer on my car. Thanks Troy. The first night we all got to know eachother and drank and chased racoons all around the square. Apparenlt there was a dead body floating around in the water at that time as well, so we felt a bit uneasy. Some guy drowned and the police were searching around the waters.

Day two was fun. We played many games of haki sack and sat around. We went to the beach and just fucked around for a bit. At night we drank and walked around. People decided to do body shots. The pressured me into it. My Body Shot Cherry had been popped. It was an odd game but fun. We headed to the lake as well and checked out the stars, they were mind blowing. If you ever head up north check out the stars on a clear night.

The next day it was time to leave, we all said goodbye and went home. I went to my Grandma's (Nana) 80th birthday party and hung out with a bunch of family in Bobcaygeon.

Just yesterday, Mr. Steve Uger left for his summer job in London. Sucks having my best friend leave but it's good for him. So for a goodbye thing for Steve, we went to Julies house and jumped on the trampoline for a while. I was in heaven. For those of you who know me, you probably know that I am in love with trampolines! I have even offered to buy one and put it in your backyard as well (cause I have no backyard). So I jumped until I couldn't jump no more.

Sorry about this long and not exciting post, I am tired and hot..and tired.

    Blue Skies Over Bad Lands
What if you woke up in the middle of the night
And in your bare feet you walked outside
And realizing that you were awake that you could fly
    Out over the world
To places that you’ve only heard of
See faces that you were sold as murderers
But just like you they’re only lonely boys and girls
    Like all over the world

What if you could lift them up?
What if you could make it so that times weren’t tough?
So every morning when the world woke up
There’d only be weather on the news
And what if you were back in bed
With one of them floating over your head
What do you say to your enemies
When you don’t know what it is that could have been between you?

There ain’t no blue skies over bad lands
Even if it ain’t raining in the mornings
But you don’t need to fly to understand it
    Just understand understanding

    Fun Day w/ Steve Uger
Last Friday Steve Uger came to pick me and we decided to take advantage of the sunny afternoon.

    12:30pm
Steve and I went to a restaurant called Wimpy's in Ajax. You get giant hambergers for a reasonable price. Being the nice guy I am, I bought Steve his hamburger and arranged to break his thumbs in return.

    1:45 pm

I had an idea (which doesn't happen very often). I remembered that there is a museum in Pickering. This ain't no ordinary museum Mac, this is a pioneer museum! So Steve and I jumped in his car and sped to The Pickering Pioneer Museum Villiage (1)

    2:00 pm

Holy snap! We were there in no time, wern't we Steve? Before entering the doors we took advantage of the outside displays (2). We went in with our $2 happily in our hands.

    ENTER The Owner

Owner: Sorry, we are only open to the public on weekends.

    EXIT us

So Steve and I had to leave. To be honest I felt a bit down because I was so excited to see the old museum again and make rope & wooden nails, fuck..(3)

    2:30 pm
Steve had a pretty good idea being that we just go for a hike at Greenwood Provincail Park (which was right around the corner). We drove down and started walking on the hike. Bugs were a bit annoying but the view was breath-taking to say the least (4).

As we were walking we noticed a creek (that being Duffins Creek). It was extremely shallow. Steve being a guy who went tree=planting for a month up north in knee deep swamp, felt the urge to step in side the creek and walk to the middle of it (5) . I soon followed (6). We walked up the creek like motherfucks and went back on trail eventually.

    3:30 pm

It was time to head home, we felt the urge to yell at the construction workers who were cutting down farmland at the side of the road. We yelled "fight the power!" to the houses surrounded by demolished land as well.

Steve eventually dropped me off and flew back to his home planet. Bye Steve.

As for me, well that's another story.

    Daddy likes it dirty..
    Another day, another dollar.

Hey my name is Ryan Michael Mills. I am a 20 year old male from Ajax Ontario. Born in Scarborough Ontario, I played baseball for ten years then gave up and starting working at a binder factory.

I think I am sick. I have pneumonia-like symptoms which kind of sucks but I am doing okay. I saw Van Helsing on Saturday, it was pretty predictable yet entertaining. Plus Cate Bakensale was the female lead and she could lead me anyday if you know what I mean (cause I sure as hell don't).

Glad to see that Mr. Sun has decided to come home for the summer. He made an appearance today through the clouds wearing his shiney sunglasses and kindly ejaculated his sunlight on to all of us. I made the most of it. I worked BUT afterwards I met up with William Robert Prosper and we drove to Oshawa to visit my friend Leah. Leah told us that she could get us into the Go-Kart place at North End Bowl for free. With glee-ful thoughts, we drove on down to find the Go-Kart place closed. Damn. But we stiill had fun. Will and I then went to Rock and Roll McDonald's. Before that we stopped by to pick Kevin Dowse up but he wasn't home...probably jerking off somewhere. Just kidding!

So now I am home, I watched the Blue Jays lose 5-1 after 6 consecutive wins. And yes, I am probably one of the only baseball fans on earth. This weekend my hick-trailer park opens up like the legs of a slutty high school girl, and I plan to make my way up there for the weekend to attempt to keep it real.

Dad's at my grandparents again yet again trying to make an attempt to quit drinking/spending the little money we have. Last time he did this, he came home the next day. Bravo Glen, Bravo. So let's see what he'll do, shall we.

I am glad to see many familiar faces home as well. This weekend I saw a few people, for example I saw Quinton, Laura, Katharine, Niamh, Kevin, Ryan Field, Will, Andrew, Nate, Leya, Jen, Lou and many others. Y'all made my weekend and I hope to see many more of you very soon.

For now, I sleep instead of dance. Fatigue does that don't it?
