    Time Event
    7:44p
    sunday :: 01.18.04 :: 12:25 p.m.
    Here I sit wanting to update, yet not really having anything to say.

    Dalton had his tenth birthday Friday, an event which I will update about more later, maybe. He got 'Brotherhood of the Wolf' on dvd, and his grandma called from Mississippi to wish him a happy bday, as well as Michael's mom. I haven't watched 'Brotherhood of the Wolf' with the boys yet, though, because I tried the other night and fell asleep.

    Unfortunately, it is that time, and that time usually renders me completely useless in all capacities. At least my sleep schedule is back on track, though.

    Friday morning was spent getting up, baking cupcakes, decorating cupcakes, packaging cupcakes for transport to school, getting kiddos ready, getting myself ready, going to work, working till time to pick the boys up from school, going by the bank, stopping at the convenience store for treats, and finally coming home.

    Yesterday was spent puttering around the place, checking out different real estate listings, cleaning a bit, taking the boys to the Yugioh duels, and I guess that's about it. I cooked and cleaned some more, but that's an ongoing thing.

    Today I woke early again, and attempted to work on some graphics for my lj/gj styles...but just wasn't into it. Figures. Donovan has a playdate in about half an hour, and then at 3 'The Ninth Gate' comes on....woohoo, I will get to drool over Johnny Depp.

    Isn't my life exciting?

    Maybe not always, but I prefer my sedentary hermitude.....less angst that way, I suppose. And there is a lot to be said for not experiencing the wrong kind of excitement, after all.

    monday :: 01.19.04 :: 2:13 p.m.
    I don't have time right now for much of an update....have been cleaning this place up right behind the kids, and they are into stuff as fast as I can straighten it back out. Yes, I know they should be helping me. But I make them get their stuff up out of my way, and keep their place relatively safe and sanitary, so that is fine for now.

    But Dalton made breakfast this morning...the least I could do was clean up after he made us sausage and eggs, right?

    So I am just now getting along to really catching up on my blog reads. I haven't been by to see mom with attitude in a while, so I stopped by there. I am so glad I did, as Mama Michelle didn't disappoint (Mama Michelle never disappoints), with this entry, which pretty much sums up how I feel about several sensitive issues.

    And in my quest to quench my net boredom and find more net friends, I came across this group, run by the fabulous Sarah: Rock-n-Roll Mamas. If you love music, concerts, talking about your fav music and such, then this is the place for you :) It's been around for a while, but hasn't been very active, and I am trying to change that. If you or anyone you know would like to be a part of such a group, by all means come join and pass word along!

    Bah. More cleaning awaits. I love cleaning, but.....I am not making any leeway and the kids are too noisy. They need to be in school. Unfortunately for me, school is out and I am going nuts.

    I will *so* have my butt parked in front of the tube for this show.

    I think this one is my favorite......

    thursday :: 01.22.04 :: 10:21 a.m.
    It's just a typical Thursday around here. I didn't have to work today, so I am going to try to be lazy AND get as much done around here as humanly possible. Think I can pull it off? Me either. But I have soaked a load of dishes with the intention of actually washing them and getting them put away. I am really good at that... just leaving the dishes in the sink to soak. And I've done a load of laundry. It'll be really sweet to have the boys all packed up and ready to go for the weekend this evening, so that there are no last minute holdups.

    This weekend we are going to see The Butterfly Effect, or, as the hubby puts it, 'that movie with the fat goth and that guy who fucks Demi Moore.' I think we saw the trailer for it back when we went to see The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and both immediately agreed we had to see it. Michael is rarely into movies that I like as well, so this should be interesting. I'm also interested in seeing Hollywood's take on Chaos theory. But then again, I like most all movies anyhow, and would surely still be attending one movie per week, either solo or with family members, could I afford it.

    Speaking of movies, I tried to get Michael to watch Cabin Fever with me last night. He said it was lame. I figured he'd say as much, but it still entertained ME, so it's all good. After all, I wanted to see it when it came out and never got to. I wasn't disappointed, but some of you may be. I guess it all depends on what you like...I'd recommend it to cheesy movie fans, but am not actually urging anyone to go out and rent it.

    I am ready to go see what's on tv and take a nap. A nice, long nap, because tomorrow is going to be BUSY.

    thursday :: 01.22.04 :: 11:12 a.m.
    I checked my frienster account. I got a weird message from this guy.

    Obviously, the text with >s out beside is his message. I just had to write him back!

    > Hola Kim!

    >
    Dear (name removed),
    I am fine, thank you.

    Did you bother to read my profile? Because if you did, you would see that I am married, and only on friendster to meet friends. Not only that, but I am lazy and like wrestling.

    You say that you have a girlfriend and are only looking for friends, but you don't say that until after you have given me a slew of interests, likes and dislikes, and your astrological sign...things that I would think belong in your profile. This comes across a lot like a personals ad, and quite honestly, I would have been more receptive had you just said something along the lines of 'I'm just on here looking for new friends' or something of that nature. I prefer getting to know my friends slowly.

    I don't know what you would consider 'fleeting internet virtual pals', but I get the feeling that is something I wouldn't be up for. I do love meeting and getting to know people on the net, but once I am someone's friend, I am truly their friend, there isn't anything fleeting about it. I take my friendships, both online and IRL seriously.

    What I find *really* odd about this post is that you sent me this message, yet there is no request for me to friend you on here.

    One last thing. Your job sounds very interesting. Since you write, it would not surprise me at all if you were doing this solely for job-related purposes.

    I don't know what your intentions are, but good luck in your quest to meet people from all over.

    Has this person hit anyone else up on friendster? I am curious. I personally think he's looking for net chumps to exploit in his little paper or whatever. Heh.
