It’s amazing the difference a shave makes…
There is a fab Goth Rock night in Leeds by the name of Wendy House. It’s a night that I’ve always loved, but only go to very rarely due to it being in Not-Manchester. I realised that this is folly, as it is remarkably simple to get a train back to Manc – they start up again at 3ish which is just after kicking out time. As such, I went there last Satursday.
Now, at Wendy House, if you go dressed in your normal civvies, it’s you that looks out of place amongst the lycra, PVC, fishnet, et al clad punters. It’s truly an amazing thing to see: the majority of the people there make a real effort to Goth up!
Of course, if I’m gonna do something, I’m not gonna do it by halves. As such my trip to Wendy House HAD to involve a costume. I decided on going as a Luce Libre wrestler. One snag, I am well hairy. There were two options: limited authenticity of hairy Lunchador or shave me chest. I’m sure it surprises no-one which option I took…

So, yeah, I have the body of a boy! Who knew?! I’ve had me chest wig for 12+ years now, and it was so scary looking in the mirror and seeing no rug. It was also kinda cool. I had no idea how much my chest wig hides that I’m as skinny as a rake though!
So me and my hairless chest dressed up Luce Libre style and had a fab night in Wendy House. I SO wanna go again, and I’m sure this time it’ll be sooner, rather than later!
