The Republic of Weradin is a very large, safe nation, remarkable for its complete lack of prisons. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 56 million are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.
The medium-sized government is mainly concerned with Education, although Social Welfare and Healthcare are secondary priorities. The average income tax rate is 24%, but much higher for the wealthy. A healthy private sector is led by the Soda Sales, Gambling, and Door-to-door Insurance Sales industries.
Religious organizations are being forced to leave the country or pay income taxes like everybody else, elevator music has been replaced by thrash metal played at maximum volume, anti-government web sites are springing up, and private business has started paving paradises and putting up parking lots. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown. Weradin's national animal is the badger, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Havok.
Weradin is ranked 4403rd in the region and 67,106th in the world for Happiest Citizens.
