'My Corduroyed Life' - Mark A's Journal Yesterday was a very wrong day… The following five very wrong things happened yesterday: I saw a man walking across a zebra crossing with his trousers round his ankles. I saw a pigeon cannibalising a chip shop chicken leg. The new girl at work who is in her 40s is a huge Doctor Who geek. I discovered that Chaz and Dave are a confirmed act for Glastonbury. A Chinese student called me ‘mate’, not ‘Mr Mark’. Yesterday truly was ‘The Day of Wrong’. Have fun, M x Current mood: Current music: Head Like A Hole by NIN. Or Microsatellite as he'd prefer to be called... My friend Huw is a lovely chap who, like me, aspires to many things, but unlike me he actually tends to actually get off his arse, do something about it, and achieve them. I've always wanted to release an album, and so has he. However, he actually did something about it, and I now own his first demo CD. About six months ago, Huw (or BoBo as I call him - long story) purchased at no small cost the computer package on which Liam Howlett wrote the latest Prodigy album on. It's a beast of a program not only in price but also in size and complicity. He also invested in a keyboard (as in piano), recording equipment, and other musical paraphernalia for his PC. As I say, this program is extremely complex, so after investing a lot of money in equipment, Huw had to invest a lot of time in mastering the beast of a program. In my estimation, it's been the best part of six months. So I got home, and Rob and I looked at the CD. “Bloody hell! This is six month’s of Huw’s life.” I said, “I really hope it’s good! What if it’s not? Do I tell him, or do I lie?” Rob chastised me and told me I should respect my friends, and I agreed with him. If it was rubbish, it was my duty as a friend to give him constructive criticism… The prospect of which, I really didn’t like. Thank fuck I enjoyed it! Have fun, M x Current mood: Current music: Desert Ed by Microsatellite. |
