'My Corduroyed Life' - Mark A's Journal

18th March, 2005. 12:46 pm. A Month Without Booze

Stop laughing!

I'm serious here: I've quit drinking.

Okay, here's the thing: I think I spend too much money on booze. Not only that, I spend too much money on booze which then means I completely forget large percentages of nights out too. My dad has always said "I don't need a drink to have a good time" and it's true, HE doesn't.

What I've decided is that I'm going to go teetotal for a month, and see if it saves me money, and/ or if I still have good times. If it doesn't save me money, and I have a crap time, I'll pick up drinking again. If I do save money (or at least do have a noticeable amount more of material goods) and still have fun, then what do I actually need booze for?!

Also, quitting kebabs and poppers wasn't that hard, and was well worth it for the mornings after.

So I'm going from this payday 'til next payday without booze: 15th March to 15th April.

No booze for a month. How hard can that be? Right?
[gulp]

Have fun,

M x
