Sometimes things just aren't what they seem...
"You look over 40 because you're bald."
A recent email from my friend Alley spurred me on to write this entry (I've copied and pasted the email into the replies section of this post). I'd canned it, but have decided to post it after all after Alley's email.
A couple of weeks back, I was with a few gay friends and was introduced to a lad in his teens who was recently out, living it large, and getting lots of it. I rolled my eyes and assumed he'd be arrogant and irritating as hell. Within a very short time, completely unprovoked, he'd referred to a friend as "the one with glasses and a fat nose", and said to me "you look over 40 because you're bald"!
I was incensed, and immediately formed a very negative opinion of this nineteen year old person. On a subsequent meeting with my friends, I vehemently expressed my dislike of him, his rudeness, and his arrogance.

"Fucking horrible, arrogant, rude, insulting, little, twinkie shithead. I really don't like him!"
Baz:
"He's got Aspergers."
*silence*

Didn't I feel like a complete shithead! "I wonder if he's got aspergers?" is not the first thing one thinks when insulted, but even so I felt like a complete shithead. For someone who claims to overanalsyse everything, I didn't even think of analysing why he'd been so rude to me, I just saw red. Would anyone else have been any different? I doubt it? Yet I still feel very guilty...
