'My Corduroyed Life' - Mark A's Journal Oooooooooooh! New thing! It's taken me a while, but I've finally succumbed and purchased a manbag. Manbag being a man handbag. You know the sort, over the shoulder bags that are basically stylish handbag style things for men. I made the decision when I suddenly saw how horribly unfashionable, unwieldy, and ugly my old blue backpack looks. I now have a lovely manbag which has much more style. Rob has an itty bitty manbag which looks great, but I knew that I couldn't have a little manbag as unlike Rob, I find it impossible to travel light. As such I got a medium to large size manbag. I love my manbag. As is always the way, as soon as I make a new purchase, I am happy. And it's so practical! Seems to me that the stigma of men having handbag style bags has pretty much completely disappeared, and that's a good thing. There have been so many times where I've needed a pen, a brolley, or something you're likely to have in a handbag and I've got annoyed. Never again due to my trusty manbag! Yay! In the past, I've stuffed things into my coat and trouser pockets which has not only caused them to bulge and look unsightly, but has also ruined the pockets! No more do I have to shove keys, books, post, whatever into my pockets. Never again due to my trusty manbag! Yay! Permanent fixtures of my manbag: Keys Current Reading Book Micro-Brolley Tissues CD Player Spare Batteries Mobile Phone Charger (Prescription) Sunglasses Pen Notebook Book of Stamps Sugar Free Gum Bottle of Water So useful to have all those things! But I keep thinking, what can I do with all the potential of a manbag? Is a toothbrush a bit obsessive? Perhaps a CD holder with a selection of CDs? A jumper takes up a lot of room, but it's always good to have one in winter. Could I get in trouble carrying a penknife? I'm thinking maybe nunchaku is a bit dodgy. Should I maybe carry paracetemol and/ or Sinutab? I heart my manbag. I also worry myself with how much I can blither about somthing this inconsequential too. I guess I'm easily pleased. Have fun, M Current mood: Current music: You Don't Know Who... by The Wonder Stuff. |
