'My Corduroyed Life' - Mark A's Journal

9th July, 2004. 12:44 pm. Lazy Blog, But Inspired By Greatness!

Yeah, yeah, I know: it's one of those answer crappy questions things...

However, there is a story as to how I found these questions. Reinspired by reading Dave Gorman's Googlewhack Adventure, I started to play and try to find googlewhacks. It turns out that I didn't know all the rules of googlewhacking, and some of my previous ones were illegal. Both words have to be in dictionary.com for it to be allowed (they're underlined in the text if they are).

Anyway, my latest googlewhack is 'fishmonger malarky'.
This blog is fishmonger malarky.
I have left a comment on her blog telling her that she is a googlewhack, and I'll update here if I get any responce from her.

I found this set of crappo questions on the aforementioned blog, so thought I might as well give them a go despite the fact I have at least five better ideas for blogs in my head...

Have fun,

M

THE FRIDAY FIVE

1. What is your current occupation? Is this what you chose to be doing at this point in your life? Why or why not?

I currently work for EFL (English as a Foreign Language) in the School of Languages at the University of Salford. It’s very new as I’ve only been in the job a week, and after initial horror, it’s an okay job. I do have other thoughts on what I’d like to be, but I aint going to mention it unless it comes into fruition. I do like my job, and like my life in general, so that’s why I’m in it at the moment.

2. If time/talent/money were no object, what would your dream occupation be?

Probably something along the lines of test audience member or film review columnist. Something that allowed me to watch film all day, and get paid money for it!

3. What did/do your parents do for a living? Has this had any influence on your career choices?

My dad is a marketing consultant (freelance marketing guy hired by people for specific marketing projects), and my mum works in the offices of Wolverhampton Speech Therapy. The fact they could afford to send me to University certainly gave me opportunities, but I won’t let them directly influence any decisions in my life any more.

4. Have you ever had to choose between having a career and having a family?

No. Considering my slightly below average ambition, I’m unlikely to either.

5. In your opinion, what is the easiest job in the world? What is the hardest? Why?

Easiest has to be the people who get paid to sleep so that scientists can do research on dreams and dream patterns. Paid to sleep?! Either that or sperm donator! Paid to have a wank?!
Hardest would probably have been coal mining in the day. Other that that I reckon teachers, doctors, nurses, meatpackers, and construction workers have it pretty damned rough.

Current mood: okay.
Current music: Hear My Cry by Sonique.
