'My Corduroyed Life' - Mark A's Journal It seems like an end of an era… At work, I do monthly reports for our staff newsletter, detailing what’s new in Graduate Gateway, and how the programme is doing. I have just written what is likely to be my last. We were officially told that we’re in redeployment last Friday, and that no more Gateway programmes will be run. D’you know? I don’t actually think it sank in until I wrote the final report though, and now, well, I’m feeling rather upset. Below is what I wrote: ![]() So we are about to finish the final programme for the foreseeable future. Once again, all candidates have been to many interviews, and have a great choice of placement offers. This continues our high levels of success that we’ve been having recently. As we are coming to a close, I thought you might like to see just how successful we really were. Below is a chart displaying how we helped people, and what their destinations were after the Graduate Gateway programme: ![]() With 94 successful programmes, over more than a ten-year history, we’d like to think that Gateway has made a real difference to over 1000 unemployed graduates, and over 1000 employers. I think it’s fair to say that we really have ‘offered graduates a kick start to their careers’ and ‘provided graduate talent to local companies’, and Gateway was/ is something to be proud of. Always a good thing when you’re down… As you can see, I’ve worked out how to upload pictures and photos to a private account, so can now post the exact pictures, and any photos I want on this blog! As such, it’s worth checking out my March monthly review as the picture that didn’t work when I linked it is now active. I’ll now be able to put up more pictures and photos on this blog. Yay! Have fun, M |
