'My Corduroyed Life' - Mark A's Journal Just because I'm blogging a lot about work recently does not mean my job is cool... Thought I'd get that comment in before we start, 'cos it's alarmed me how much I've chatted about work recently. It's very strange that I'm going out a lot at the moment and doing loads of stuff, but the thing that's inspiring blogs recently is work. [shrug] Anyway, the actual topic I was going to post about was Secret Santa. For those of you that don't know what Secret Santa is: Secret Santa is an idea whereby everyone in the office's name is put in a hat, and everyone picks one. The name you get is the person for whom you buy a Christmas present. In our office, the budget is a fiver. This year, I got a colleague who likes Lord of the Rings, so my Secret Santa was dead easy: I just went to WH Smiths and bought her a Lord of the Rings calendar. Sorted. And she seemed reasonably happy with it. I personally think I'm the easiest person to buy for in the office: I wear my my heart on my sleeve and everyone knows I'm into martial arts, film, RPG, etc and am easily pleased by daft stuff/ cuddly toys/ childish things. In previous years I've recieved a cuddly dragon with a chorduroy tummy and a robotic dog as my Secret Santas. I was overjoyed with both, and they're both still on my desk at work. This year was a bit different. Everyone seemed to be making hella effort and being thoughtful with the Secret Santas and everything. Realistically, my calendar present was a bit dull and unadventurous. Everyone thought it was controversial when Michelle got knickers and a condom... until I got my present. My present was a Cocky Fireman (http://www.clonezonedirect.co.uk/czd4/gifts3.html). I couldn't quite believe it! I got a cocky fireman in front of all the people in the office. I love it, of course, but goodness gracious! Have fun, M Current mood: Current music: Leave by Will Young. If you're a regular reader of this thing, you know the drill by now... I would moan about my lack of PC know how, but I can't be arsed, so here you go...
