'My Corduroyed Life' - Mark A's Journal
I've thought of a couple more coming out stories that are worth writing about...
Rich from work
Hissy fit self-outing in record time...
Scene is set at Salford University Careers Service. The small premises in cluttered with free publications that few people ever take, and has a distinct plastic pine decor vibe. Careers Advisor Bev is chatting to new staff member Rich. Rich wears a shirt and tie and looks ever so swotty. Through the office minces Mark A. Bev notices him, and calls out to him.
Bev:
"How'd the date go on Saturday, Mark?"
Mark (flapping arms and scowling in a 'hissy fit' style):
"Rubbish! I hate men! They're all bastards."
Mark storms off, and into the kitchen, where he is alone.
Mark (soliloque):
"Ah crap! That was Rich... he's worked here, what? Ten minutes?!"
Pete's Dad
Perceptive, or just noticing the blatently obvious?
Scene is set at The Grand flats in Manchester where Pete is moving in, being helped by his dad and Mark. The decor is far too posh for a lowly pleb like Mark, which is why he sticks out like a sore thumb in his scruffy rocker gear. Enter Mark and Pete's Dad, carrying a carboard boxes.
Pete's Dad:
"So where you been today?"
Mark:
"Bradford."
Pete's Dad:
"What's in Bradford."
Mark:
"My boyfriend."
Pete's Dad:
"Oh right. Nice is he?"
Mark:
"I like him."
Next scene: Pete and Pete's Dad are in Pete's Room. There are boxes and stuff everywhere.
Pete's Dad:
"So Mark finally came out then, Pete?"
Hmmm... Am now racking my brain for anything else worthy of a 'memories' post, and I'm struggling... but at least I've done two now.
