Yay! Bless her!

Doris is better(ish). Having procrastinated on calling them out, I called the AA yesterday. They were stunningly efficient, getting to me in about 15 minutes. I would definitely recommend them: they were ace! The guy who came was a really nice bloke too, and managed to explain the problems in simple terms that even I could understand.

Anyway, it turns out that she has an amusing problem with her. Basically, some wotsit thing that connects the starter motor wires to the battery is sticking in it's tube. The guy explained that this can and will happen at random intervals, which means there'll be no connection to the engine from the key. The remedy? Open the bonnet, get a tire iron, and hammer the offending tube a few times to dislodge it whilst turning the ingnition key. This is, of course, a two person job. Once it's been dislodged, it might need to be dislodged the next journey, or 20 journeys down the line!

Isn't this exiting? Never knowing quite when you have to ask some random stranger: "Excuse me, can you turn the keys in my car while I tap a tube in it's engine, please?"

I could get it replaced, but it'll cost £80, and it kinda amuses me anyway!

I love my Doris... she's great.

Dammit! He's given me another one!

I'll get him! I remember a mate of mine got revenge on his girlfriend, after she gave him lovebites, by waiting until she went to sleep and then giving her a lovebite on the end of her nose. One more, and Ill do it! I'll bloody do it! One more I tell thee!

On the plus side, I do have a number of Ninja bruises at the monent due to a rather intense session last Tuesday. I am currently palming off the lovebites as Ninjuries (geddit? Ninja Injuries = Ninjuries). Yay! Ninja!
