'My Corduroyed Life' - Mark A's Journal I feel about 12... Naughty boy Tony gave me a lovebite last night. Dammit! The only other time I've ever had a lovebite, I was too drunk to remember what it was like. Hence, when he did it, I didn't actually realise what he was doing: it was actually really rather pleasant at the time. This morning, he gleefully pointed it out to my horror. [scowl] I have had to wear a tie all day to keep my collar up and hide it. I hate wearing ties, and I don't have to at my place of work. I now have to decide whether or not to face the abuse, or wear ties for a week. DAMMIT! Mark my words, revenge will be sweet! Mwahahahahahahaaaaaa! Have fun, M Current mood: Mmmmkay. Current music: Love Is Only A Feeling by The Darkness. I want to blog. I have time to blog. Yet I appear to have nothing to blog about! Am I all blogged out?! I have only been doing this about three months, and looking back, I've written a hell of a lot. I have also done a hell of a lot of cut and pasting into this thing. I've deliberately gone for the 'funny' approach for the majority of posts (including many, many 'funny' lists). I've got on my gay soapbox here and there, and blithered about RPGs and being a roleplayer a little bit. One thing I haven't really done, is talk much about things I've been doing in my life. There's been the odd one here and there, but not really. I guess the everyday happening of my life don't seem all that interesting/ blogworthy. Pixie (http://www.cosmicmonkey.co.uk/) discussed something similar on his blog a while back. What is a blog? Who are bloggers? What are blogs for? He mentions that there are common parts to blog sites: talk about yourself and your feelings, links the other blogs you read, a weather fairy on your site, refer to webrings that you're a member of, and talk about books/ music/ films you've been consuming. Now, lets take a look at these. Talk About yourself and your feelings. Well I do this in a manner of speaking. However, there's always the motivation to be funny or political. I don't just say things like 'Today I went fishing and had a good time'. It's always an elaborate (and hopefully comic) version of events that focuses on the funny stuff, not the actual event. I don't know if this is a bad thing or not. Links to other blogs. I do those (probably very irritating) blog courtesy posts once in a while, but I don't think blurty has the facilities to link to blogs outside of blurty. Weather Fairy. I don't even know what a weather fairy is. It sounds like an amusing character I'd enjoy playing in Dungeonworld (http://www.madcentral.com/dungeonworld/). I play far too many silly characters like pixies and leprachauns there... Webrings. Nope! Not a member of any of those! Talk About Books, Music and Film. It's rare. I've done the odd post, but the sad truth is that I've read three books since starting this (all of which have been mentioned), next to never listen to anything that people won't have heard, and the majority of films I watch are obscure and people just aren't interested in them. So am I an abnormal blogger? Does this matter? Does this post have a point? I dunno, it just seems hella dull to just write a 'me, me, me' post with no attempt at humour, nothing of particular significance, and no opinions on anything... But I'll give it a go. Had a great weekend and Monday. Spent Friday night with my little bro, David, and we stayed in and watched a film. On Saturday, David and I met up with my friends Andy and Jo for lunch and a mince around the shops, and then met my boyfriend Tony who'd come to visit. We had a nice time, chatted, but I bought nothing other than a Subway sarnie. Tony and I then met up with Ninjas (Ninja Rich, some of Ninja Rich's mates, Ninja Martin, Ninja Dennis, and mcphee) in the evening and went to another Ninja's (Ninja Matt) debut night as a DJ in a bar called Glass. I enjoyed the night, and the music (Matt's set was kinda funky dancey type stuff). Sunday saw Tony and I be shockingly lazy and not leave the flat: we watched telly (Docco on Dirty Den and Bodica dramatisation), monged around, updated his CV, and did rude things. Monday, I dragged myself to work, leaving Tony to get ready for his interview in the afternoon (wearing my suit). Work was predictably hectic due to it being the first day of a Graduate Gateway programme. I met Tony and Jo after work, and we drank booze and had pizza delivered while watching the return of Dirty Den to Eastenders: which was surprisingly tense and impressive. Went home and then straight to bed... So there you have it. Not particularly inspiring. I'm having a good time right now, and I'm really happy... but is that blog worthy? Have fun, M Current mood: All Things Are Good. Current music: Angel by Massive Attack. |
