Today's the first day of September, which means many things.
Firstly it means that I posted every single day in August. It's a small feat, but I just love seeing the calendar all filled up with posts:)
Secondly, it means that I posted the TV listing in  starsky_hutch and I can finally reveal that on September 19th A&E is scheduled to show Death on the Nile. YES! That 2004 UK Poirot movie that I thought for sure us Americans would never see at all is coming on American television! The only two memories I have of the UK fans talking about David Soul's appearance in it was "he looked good" (which I can attest to because I saw screengrabs and...he looked GOOD) and he fell over golf clubs on the course. Ummm, I can so see that. That would be an added characteristic that David brought to it because we all know how much David Soul can fall over his own two feet. Just stand there, look pretty, that's good.
Thirdly, it means that I take another turn at pimping SH over at crack_van. Like always, I'll do them on Saturdays. I have a good stack to pull from, so it'll be nice to pimp again.
Fourthly, it means that I posted my SH Relationship Summary over at ship_manifesto. I want to focus on that for a moment. I have gotten ALOT of feedback on the essay, all of it making me feel so very wonderful. I pimp SH enthusiastically because of many reasons--the characters, the actors, the relationship, the show's themes, the fandom, the love. 90% of the comments were from people who were not fans before, had only barely heard of the show, but because of what I covered in my essay three people have gotten the first season DVDs, a couple more have gone looking for fics, and they all felt that I showed the one true pairing of SH very well. That makes me feel good. Sharing the love of the boys is a wonderous adventure because not only do I get to introduce new fans to the show, but everytime they get happy about a scene or a fic, it makes me happy. It's a circular kinda love:)
