I've spent the evening fighting with LiveJournal and padding my SH essay for  ship_manifesto I wanted to put some quotes into the essay and since it's not due until September 1st I have plenty of time to add more. I'm over 2,000 words for it, but it pretty much comes down to our slash is canon:) I also added some Paulie/Davey quotes because let's face it, the love between Starsky and Hutch was a direct result of the love between Paul and David. And it just makes me SO happy to hear them refer to each other by their nicknames.
And I've slowly been working on my journal article about fandom as a community. The bad part is all the articles I have are 2001 or older, since that's the last time I did a big print search for media articles. So, if anyone knows of any current articles dealing with fanfic/fandom/slash, let me know. It's just so odd reading these articles since they were written by outsiders and then here I am writing as an insider. It's kinda like Henry Jenkins in Textual Poachers. Figures my favorite Communications book would be about fandom, huh?:) He did such a wonderful job with it, though. I wanna be him when I grow up. I'm going through the book again this weekend to pull the majority of my quotes. And I find that everytime I re-read that book it's a new adventure because I recognize more and more names. And it's not just I've heard of them, more and more are I've talked to them or I know them. Really weird.
