...This was originally typed up in CTR's comment box, but it was too long, and so... --;

...OK, I've read r00's entry now, and I -had- a comment typed up--then I closed the window. -Yay.- Pure genius, here, definitely. So yeah, anyway, I'll retype it in part:
1. You're around r00's age, aren't you? The reason she mentioned Chira was because Chira's -younger- than her. By several years. You're right around r00's age, right? Chira's younger, but she'll probably pass r00's skill level by the time -she's- the age -r00- is -now.- You see? -That's- why she was talking about Chira. Having someone younger than you almost as good as you and constantly improving... it's worrying, see? She doesn't want to be surpassed. Haha, it's a little selfish, but... XD;
2. The mentioning of Mcat: she thinks Mcat is better than her. -And- Mcat's younger. Mcat -is- really good. I like r00's art more, but that's probably just because I'm a psycho stalker girly. Seriously, -have- you actually looked at her art? It's -beautiful.- She colors well, her outlines are nice, and ...dunno how to say it, -what- she draws is nice. So yeah. ...Heck, looking at her more recent art on her page compared to the stuff from '01... she's improved, too. Same deal, see? Younger + improving = threat.
That's why she mentioned them. You see?
The reason she -didn't- mention you...
She wasn't talking about 'good' artists. You're good. You're better than a lot of the stuff out there (there's some REALLY bad MegaMan fanart, it makes me cry... and MM has nothing to do with anything).
You are -not,- however, great. I don't mean that as an insult in any way. Mcat's work is -really- impressive. You have to admit, this is better than your stuff. I'm not trying to insult you in -any- way.
r00 wasn't either. She was talking about people she's friends with who are better than her.
You (and, heck, I!) didn't get mentioned because -we're not as good as her.- We both need work. Your style's stayed the same for a long time, I've noticed. It's a good style, sure, but it could be improved upon. (Mine could do with improvement, too... --;) You're her age, you're not as good.. and so, you didn't get mentioned.
It wasn't intended as an insult, so don't take it as one. If anything, take it as a challenge. -Keep getting better.- If you challenge yourself to do better, to do something different, you have to work at it. Keep trying. Keep developing your style, keep trying new things. Try taking a class in watercolor or oil painting, improve your style, learn.
Learning from 'traditional' artists can help a lot. Even if you don't do traditional/realistic work, there's plenty to be learned about lighting, form, content, and color from the ones who do do realistic stuff.
Learn. Push Yourself.
Maybe someday, if you keep working to improve your work, r00'll be worried about you surpassing her.
