Rock Against Bush Vol. 1 |
] |
The Government has discovered a magic word to describe their concerted attack on the poor; reform.
Change the tax codes to give more to the wealthy and put the burden on the working class: VIOLA!
"TAX REFORM!"
Boot millions of single mothers off their safety net of Aid to Families with Dependant Children: HURRAH!
"WELFARE REFORM!"
Reduce state funding for public schools and increase vouchers to fund unmonitored, unporven charter schools: Call that...
"EDUCATION REFORM!"
Turn the phenominally successfull Social Security program from an insurance policy to an investment gamble that could hurt more people than it can help: Just say...
"SOCIAL SECURITY REFORM!"
Let's call these changes what they really are: THE DESTRUCTION OF THE NEW DEAL AND THE GREAT SOCIETY'S WAR ON POVERTY. They are not meant to improve the government's pursuit of the "common welfare," but to divide out our country into the fabeled HAVES AND HAVE-NOTS.
"Reform" is indeed a magic word that stands the truth on it's head. Let's not be fooled.

"Vincent" Don McLean
Starry starry night, paint your palate blue and grey. Look out on a summer's day with eyes that know the darkness in my soul. Shadows on the hills, Sketch the trees and the daffodils Catch the breese and the winter chills In colors on the snowy linen land.
Now I understand What you tried to say to me How you suffered for your sanity How you tried to set them free. They would not listen They did not know how. Perheps they'll listen now.
Starry starry night Flaming flowers that brightly blaze Swirling clouds in violet haze Reflecting Vincent's eyes that shine of blue. Colors changing hue. Morning fields of amber grain Weathered faces lined in pain Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand.
Now I understand What you tried to say to me How you suffered for your sanity How you tried to set them free. They would not listen They did not know how. Perheps they'll listen now.
For they could not love you But still, your love was true. And when no hope was left inside On that Starry starry night You took your life, as lovers often do But, I could've told you Vincent
Starry starry night Portraits hung in empty halls, Frameless head on nameless walls Eith eyes that watched the world And can't forget.
Like strangers that you've met The ragged men in ragged clothes, The silver thorwn, a bloody rose Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow.
Now I understand What you tried to say to me How you suffered for your sanity How you tried to set them free. They would not listen They're not listening still Perhaps they never will.

I so need to update this. REALLY. Nothing really ever goes on anymore. I have shit classes with shit people and shit teachers. It's like... school it a big toilet. I miss last year. I never get to see anyone one remotely rad. Me and KD have a note system though. Since we don't have classes we pass notes throughout the day. It's TERRIBLE. Weekends are boring. Lemme think now. Practice should kick up next week. Cause we're just cool kids. I'm a boring person right now. I went to the mall with Emily and accidentally threw my rings in the garbage. Stupid administration. Fuck the administration. I ate a Hot Pocket today. And some Pizza Pringles. Stop laughing at me telling you what I ate today. I have nothing better to say.
